The developers of the upcoming action-adventure game Strayed Lights have revealed its release date.
Independent gaming developer Embers announced they would launch Strayed Lights by the end of April. They added that it would debut on PC, PS5, Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
Strayed Lights is Embers' first major project. In it, players take control of a tiny light in a dark and mysterious world. They must let their light glow and grow as they journey through mystical ruins and glowing trees. In turn, players will travel to various regions and fight shadow creatures.
The French gaming studio has released its official trailer on YouTube. The video provides players with a minute-long glimpse into the world they created. It also includes several combat previews.
According to its creators, Strayed Lights will bring players a "unique atmospheric" feel. The game does not have any dialogues, said Alexandre Arramon, co-founder and creative director at Embers. Instead, players will have the freedom to interpret their encounters.
We intentionally added no text or dialogue in the game to let players come up with their own interpretation,
Arramon explained.
Developers have also tapped Grammy award-winner composer Austin Wintory for the game's soundtrack. Beyond its epic and atmospheric settings, players can expect an "enriching and illuminating journey that reflects life" in Strayed Lights.
Damien Dessagne, Embers' CEO and co-founder, described it as a “poetic and oneiric” reflection on the journey of life.
We want players to have that amazing feeling of overcoming a tough challenge while staying accessible,
said Dessagne. The gaming studio executive also hoped players could experience a different game they can relate to and feel connected. We also hope they can experience a sense of wonder by exploring the world we created and the creatures in it. We can't wait to see how players make the world of Strayed Lights their own,
