The narrative horror from The Chinese Room is getting a physical release for the PlayStation 5. This physical release for Still Wakes the Deep will arrive alongside the digital launch on June 18, 2024.

Still Wakes The Deep was developed by The Chinese Room. The same studio was behind other acclaimed stories like Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture and Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs.
The game takes place in an off-shore oil rig in Scotland. Players take on the shoes of Caz McLeary, a worker trapped in this isolated facility in 1975. According to the developers, it takes inspiration from iconic science fiction horror stories like John Carpenter’s The Thing and Jeff Vandermeer’s The Southern Reach Trilogy.
In the wake of a catastrophic event, players find themselves at the mercy of a mysterious monster. Tension looms large in every moment as this otherworldly threat pursues players at random. Players can piece together the story by following linear paths or by collecting lore.
There is no combat in Still Wakes The Deep. Like Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, stealth is paramount to survival. Players can avoid encounters at all costs by running, climbing and jumping around the claustrophobic hallways.
Players must also fight for their lives through a storm. The light environmental puzzles will serve as the gameplay loop. With all lines of communications severed, players must rely on their wits to make it out alive.
Aside from its physical release on PS5, Still Wakes The Deep will roll out on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Game Pass at launch.
