While Steam has made it easier for users to buy games, they also have a nifty option to let you send games as gifts for other people. The process is simple enough for any user.
First, go to the main page of the game you want to buy. Then, click ‘Add to Cart’. You can add multiple games to your cart at one time.
After adding your games, you should be able to view them in your cart. Right next to the main image of the game, you’ll see a gray bar that says ‘For My Account’. Click the button and select the option ‘This is a gift’. This means that you want to buy the game for another person.
Afterwards, you can click on ‘Continue to Gift Options’ and finish the payment process.
Remember that the person you’re giving the gift to needs to have a Steam account. Plus they should also be a part of your Friends List.
When it comes to sending your gift, Steam will also give you the option to send a message along with your gift. Make sure to write down the name of the recipient and your sentiment to them while signing off on your gift.
Steam also gives you an option to have the gift delivered on a specific day. This could be useful for scheduling gifts ahead of time.

Aside from games, can you gift DLC? Soundtracks? Bundle?
Of course. All you have to do is go to the main page of the DLC/Soundtrack/Bundle and follow the same process. Steam's gifting options for DLCs, bundles, and soundtracks are the same as those for regular games.
Epic doesn’t support gifting yet, or does it?
Officially, there are still no gift options on Epic Games Store. The best you can do right now is send money directly to the person you want to send a gift to. That way, they can buy a game on the Epic Games Store themselves.
Others suggest logging into your friend’s account and buying the game there to keep them surprised.
Even though there isn’t an official option yet, multiple players have discussed it on the forums. It’s possible that EGS is already keeping the gifting option in mind for future updates.
Does GoG support gifting?
Yes, GOG.com also supports gifting. Simply purchase the order like usual. But before you pay for it, make sure to check the ‘Gift This Order’ option. This will open a window which will let you input the e-mail of the person you are gifting the game to. You will also have the option to leave a message along with your purchased gift.
