While we have a lot of promising Star Wars content incoming like the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Ubisoft’s Star Wars game, Lucasfilm Games is set to bring back some older titles for a new generation of gamers. After Star Wars Racer, it’s been announced that another classic Star Wars game is going to be making a comeback.
Here’s the announcement of Star Wars: Republic Commando for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch:
The original Republic Commando was actually an exclusive for the Xbox and PC, so this would be its first time the title would be available to the PlayStation and Nintendo. Aspyr will be the one handling the port, and it’s said that this revival of the game will only focus on the single-player campaign and not so much on the multiplayer aspect.
Just like the original Battlefront II, Republic Commando is hailed by Star Wars fans as one of the best SW shooters to ever come out. While this is just a revival of an old game, some are hopeful that this could pave the way for more extensive remasters of classic titles. Jedi Power Battles, anyone?
Star Wars: Republic Commando will run for $14.99 and will come to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch on April 6. More games can be found in our respective lists for Upcoming PS4 Games and Upcoming Switch Games.
