Get ready to brave the mutated horrors of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone on the go.
Ukrainian developer GSC Game World announced the highly anticipated release date for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy on Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo version of the hit first-person shooter (FPS) title was initially planned for a November release. But GSC decided to roll it out this October 31 -- a week earlier.
"Originally planned for November, Stalkers can now enter the Zone a week earlier, on October 31, 2024," GSC wrote in a press release.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is a cult classic renowned for its unique blend of first-person shooter mechanics, survival horror, and RPG elements. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world surrounding the Chernobyl disaster site.
The trilogy is composed of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky (2008), and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat (2009).
Since its release, the game has captivated players worldwide. Many praised it for its immersive world-building and challenging gameplay. Due to its commercial and critical success, developers of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series have sold over 15 million units globally.
The Nintendo Switch version of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R trilogy features a complete optimization for the platform. These include an adapted shooting system with gyro aiming. Switch players can also expect refined visuals and full-mode support. This meant that they could get a visually optimized experience on both handheld and docked modes.
The individual games will be available digitally for USD $19.99. Meanwhile, the complete trilogy bundle will be priced at USD $39.99. Regional pricing will apply in select territories.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is an updated edition of the original trilogy, published for PlayStation and Xbox platforms on March 7, 2024.
