Elodie Games, a collection of veterans from Riot Games, Blizzard, and Ubisoft, has announced its highly anticipated debut title, Seekers of Skyveil. The game will be a free-to-play extraction multiplayer that blendsLeague of Legends, and Dark & Darker.
Seekers of Skyveil's Closed Beta is set to begin in September 2024. It will introduce the game's foundational gameplay loop, with a focus on expanding the game's depth. Elodie Games plans to increase the frequency of playtests during this period, allowing players to engage with the game more often and provide valuable feedback.
Seekers Of Skyveil offers a fresh twist on the extraction genre. Instead of borrowing mechanics from a single game, it blends elements from MOBAs, battle royales, and hero shooters. As a result, it offers fast-paced, action-packed gameplay that is easy to pick up but challenging to master.
Players choose from a roster of unique heroes known as ‘Seekers,’ each with distinct aesthetics, playstyles, and personalities. Players can pick either a tanky living tree, a joyful bunny-girl healer, or an artistic ice mage. There's a Seeker for every playstyle.
The game supports squad play, with players forming groups of three to tackle creatures, bosses, and enemy players in search of valuable items and relics. With multiple maps to choose from, including "capped," "uncapped," and the soon-to-be-released "high stakes" map, players can tailor their experience to their preferred level of challenge and risk.
The latest Closed Alpha playtest was scheduled for August 8 and 9 in North America. Players who joined the Alpha received an exclusive in-game emote as a token of appreciation.
Elodie Games is also reaching out to content creators through its partner program. Partners will have access to Twitch Drops, private playtest previews, and other exclusive perks. The studio encourages creators and fans alike to follow the game on Twitter and join the community Discord for sneak peeks, competitions, and the latest news.
The game is currently available on Steam’s Early Access.
