The nominations include nods for Best Publisher and Commitment to ESG, as well as recognition for individual games such as Still Wakes the Deep, Oil Strike ’75, Loddlenaut, Make Way, and A Little to the Left: Seeing Stars.
The critically acclaimed Still Wakes the Deep, a narrative horror set on a North Sea oil rig in 1975, leads with four nominations, including "Action and Adventure Game" and "Audio Design." It received above average playscores on whatoplay with critics praising its horrifying atmosphere and emotionally-driven story.
Meanwhile, Oil Strike '75, a retro-style arcade game developed by Sumo Digital Academy, earned nominations in both the "Best Arcade Game" and "Heritage in Games" categories.
The puzzler A Little to the Left: Seeing Stars also received nominations for "Best Puzzle Game" and "Casual Game.” It serves as the latest DLC to the organizational game, A Little to the Left, that once belonged in our list of great cozy games.
Other nominated titles include the chaotic party racer Make Way and the wholesome environmental game Loddlenaut.
Secret Mode is in the running for the "Best Publisher" award after already securing the Ukie Best UK Publisher 2024 title earlier this year, marking the studio’s continuous success for the third consecutive year.
“This has been Secret Mode’s biggest year ever, and it’s all down to the incredible talent of our development partners,” said James Schall, Vice President of Publishing Strategy at Secret Mode.
The "Commitment to ESG" nomination recognizes the publisher’s dedication to environmental, social, and governance initiatives all thanks to its marketing campaign for Loddlenaut.
Its diverse lineup highlights its commitment to supporting innovative and multi-genre titles, making 2024 one of the publisher's best years yet.
