After a highly successful early access period and a strong PC launch in September, the co-op action-roguelike Ravenswatch is set to debut on additional platforms.
Starting November 28, 2024, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. It will bring the game’s dynamic gameplay alongside a much-needed cross-play functionality.
Already boasting over 600,000 active players on PC, Ravenswatch invites players to team up against the Nightmares that threaten the world of Reverie. The console versions aim to expand the game's community, enabling players on any supported platform to join forces seamlessly.
A new trailer showcases the game's cooperative gameplay, where up to four players can select from nine heroes, each with unique abilities and playstyles. Check it out here:
The trailer includes gameplay of Scarlet, a dual-form assassin who transforms into a ferocious werewolf at night, and Aladdin, who wields the incredible power of the Genie of the Lamp. Heroes evolve throughout each run and they offer diverse gameplay strategies. For example, Heroes like Sun Wukong can switch his style between a sturdy defender or an agile attacker.
As a co-op title, teamwork is essential in Ravenswatch. Hero combinations can unlock tactical possibilities, encouraging players to strategize their approach. Picking each hero has its own perks. Players who prefer defensive actions can use Beowulf, this helps mid-range heroes like the Snow Queen and Melusine to dish out their powerful attacks.
Advanced strategies include combining Geppetto's Lightning Rod Dummies with Sun Wukong's Thundercloud for devastating effects or leveraging Scarlet’s bleeding attacks to amplify Carmilla's critical strikes. Any combo is effective as long as it works.
With over 200 talents, 50 magical items, custom game modes, four difficulty levels, and endless build possibilities, Ravenswatch’s roguelike ensures a unique experience with every playthrough. Gameplay shares the same DNA as popular roguelike titles such as Hades and Dead Cells.
The game currently stands at a playscore of 8.1 on PC from nine thousand players and 7 critics. Fans and critics were impressed with the game’s expansive roster of heroes. They also praised its potential to be a great roguelike RPG.
For those eager to dive into the action immediately, Ravenswatch is currently available on PC via Steam. Console players can join the fight on November 28.
