10. DNF DUEL
It’s time to d-d-duel– whoops, wrong game. DNF DUEL opens our list with a bang. Arc System Works took characters from the popular Dungeon Fighter Online, and transformed them into 2D fighting game heroes. This game is praised for its impressive art style and simple, four-button combat system. Compared to other fighting games, DNF Duel is so much easier to learn.
Even if you're not interested in spending hours practicing for online matches, you may still be drawn to the game's unique, quirky characters and their crazy movesets. Like Grappler, if you’re a smooth brain. A playscore of 8.5.
9. NBA 2K23
Basketball fans will love NBA 2K23. It’s a big jump in quality over past releases and the best game of the series. With PS5’s powerful hardware, the game’s performance is at its most optimal — buttery-smooth graphics. Its selection of online modes will have you compete with other players; of course, you can also play solo.
Here’s the kicker. Since it’s a 2K game, expect micro-transactions and cringey product placements. Overall, fans of the series will still enjoy it. It has a playscore of 8.5.
8. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Our eighth place comes from a galaxy far, far away. Now in bite-sized brick form, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a visual trip to George Lucas’ sci-fi opera. If you enjoy lightsabers swinging, Stormtrooper blasting, or basically anything Star Wars, this massive selection of all 9 chapters is yours for the taking.
With so much content packed into one game, the number of playable characters gives more variety to your adventures. You could even play as the Mandalorian with the adorable Baby Yoda going along for the ride.
It’s lighthearted fun and doesn't take the Saga too seriously, and you’d be laughing your ass off with its goofy humor. A playscore 8.7
7. Stray
Scratching at 7th spot is Stray, a cute cat game everyone loves.
It's more than just a game for cat lovers. Stray is a wholesome tale that asks big questions about life and what it means to be human. These existential themes are made relatable by the game's cast of robots that have their own personalities.
Most important of all, Stray doesn't overstay its welcome. In 6 hours or so, you'll feel attached to this adorable kitten and its robot companion B12. A short and sweet experience. The cherry on top is the dedicated "meow" button. It has a playscore of 8.8.
6. Gran Turismo 7
In 6th place is Gran Turismo 7, the latest installment to Sony's flagship racing game series.
This is a visual feast that racing fans will drool over. Stunning graphics and immersive gameplay. Its developer -- Polyphony Digital — went the extra mile to give us a wide variety of cars to choose from. Although not the latest models, there's more than 400 cars to collect from 30 different manufacturers.
GT7 takes advantage of the PS5's processing power so expect a smooth and seamless experience. It receives a playscore of 8.8.

4. The Last Of Us Part I
The first chapter of Ellie and Joel's story is polished to near perfection in Part 1.
This Remake completely rebuilds the 2013 game with improved graphics, audio, and quality of life features that make it a perfect fit for the PlayStation 5.
Like Part II, Part 1 offers a wide range of accessibility options for players with disabilities, including audio descriptive cutscenes and speech-to-vibration features on the DualSense controller.
With a TV show and Part III on the horizon, the Clickers aren't going away any time soon. It has a playscore of 9.2.
3. Horizon: Forbidden West
At third place is Aloy’s adventures to the desolate American Southwest. Horizon: Forbidden West is the most beautiful PlayStation exclusive right now. Yes, we said it.
Although Forbidden West doesn't break new ground in its open-world formula, it continues to demonstrate the capabilities of the PlayStation 5. The stunning landscapes and crumbling ruins of the West Coast are truly breathtaking on the PS5.
Taking down Tremortusks or soaring through the skies in 4K 60FPS is a visual feast.
A DLC is also on the way, bringing Aloy on a new adventure in a lava-filled Los Angeles. A playscore of 9.2
2. Elden Ring
FromSoftware's Elden Ring takes the second spot as the highest-rated non-exclusive game on the PlayStation 5 this year.
It breaks away from the typical open-world formula and puts the journey in the hands of the player. With no quest markers or intrusive UI, The Lands Between is a sandbox of possibilities without the visual clutter.
No one’s stopping you from playing this game with a blindfold on, or playing it with a dance pad. Nothing beats the feeling of beating Margit for the first time, and that’s only the first big boss. Elden Ring is a spectacular game from start to finish with a playscore of 9.4
But alas, it couldn’t lay a finger on our best PlayStation 5 game this year…
1. God of War Ragnarok
Sound the Gjallarhorn, Ragnarok is upon us- for Kratos and Atreus, I mean. God of War Ragnarok builds upon the mechanics of the first game, keeping our beloved Boy, Leviathan Axe, and Blades of Chaos without redesigning its combat. If it ain’t broke, right?
All they did was crank it up a notch and scaled the epicness to 11. Giving us the most action-packed finale to this father and son duo in the Norse Realm. From your first fight with Thor, to fulfilling the Prophecy of the Giants, God of War Ragnarok is a stellar achievement from Santa Monica Studios with a playscore of 9.5
