Brazilian game developers ARVORE had found success with their release of their “game within a game” experience Pixel Ripped 1989. Now the studio is ready to launch the much-anticipated sequel Pixel Ripped 1995, and we have a new trailer.

Check it out:

Pixel Ripped is back with a brand new nostalgia-fueled virtual reality game-within-a-game, this time in the year 1995!

To restore balance to multiple dimensions, our videogame hero Dot recruits the help of the best gamer from 1995, an unassuming 9-year-old boy named David.

Join this unlikely duo through challenging throwbacks to all your favorite classics from the late 16-bit and early 32-bit era of games inside a virtual reality world.

While the earlier game focused on your character playing a handheld device, this sequel is now letting the character play the next generation of gaming that was available in the 90s.

What’s great is, you get to traverse from different platforms throughout the game, like your home console or one in an arcade.

Just like the first game, your goal will also be to play video games without getting into any trouble from the adults. You have to do things like distract your mom so she won’t stop you from playing games, or make sure to turn off the game at night so as not to wake her up.

And of course, the VR experience isn’t complete without elements from the game coming into the ‘real’ world. It’s a fun take on imagination, and is sure to be a nostalgia trip for veteran gamers.

Pixel Ripped 1995 comes to the PS Store on May 19 and will run for $19.99 USD.
