The fast-paced side-scroller Pepper Grinder is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
Developed by the talented team at Lone Minion and published by Devolver Digital, this highly rated indie game originally made waves earlier this year on PC and Nintendo Switch.
Pepper Grinder takes a page from the classic videogame Dig Dug. Players take control of Pepper, who finds herself stranded on a mysterious island after a violent storm destroys her ship.
The island is home to a band of pirates who have stolen Pepper's treasure. Armed with a powerful drill known as Grinder, she sets out on an action-packed quest to recover her lost loot.
The game is packed with challenging 2D platforming, fantastic pixel art, clever environmental puzzles, and chaotic combat. It is even made better with its novel gameplay mechanic, bringing a mix of retro and modern to the core experience.
On whatoplay, Pepper Grinder earned a playscore of 8.5 on PC. Reviwers have praised the game for its responsive controls and immensely satisfying ‘digging’ gameplay. On Steam, the response has been ‘Very Positive’ from over 500 users.
Right now fans have been demanding for more features. This includes a level editor to prolong the game’s short game-time. Pepper Grinder’s replay value is not built for longer hours, with more levels and the freedom to create stages, replayability could be improved.
The console release is a 1:1 port with no additional features. Players can also expect the same Trophies and Achievements from the Steam version.
With its release on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, even more players can now join Pepper on her burrowing adventures.
