Games are getting expensive. Fortunately, there are still loads of great releases that are cheap. Here's a list of affordable games for less than ten dollars on Steam.

15. Warpips

To fans of strategy games, this one is right up your alley. It’s like Command and Conquer without the complex micro-management. Plus, it’s cheaper.

Fights are shorter than the average strategy game. 10-20 minutes is enough to keep yourself satisfied without worrying about upgrades and power-ups. The best thing about Warpips is its randomized battles. There’s always something new to explore here.

14. Iron Lung

Now for horror fans that don't want to spend money on big titles like Resident Evil, this will scare you to the core.

It takes place in a blood-soaked, underwater alien world where your only sanctuary is a submarine. There are no windows! This leaves you with nothing but your trusty camera to navigate terrifying depths. You'll hear weird sounds and see weirder things.

13. Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate

Is regular chess boring for you? Shotgun King's unique twist on the beautiful game lets you play as a chess piece with a shotgun.

At every turn, you'll have to think twice before blasting your barrel. There are many ways to approach the game's combat. But always keep your trusty shotgun lock and loaded. It will keep you alive.

12. 20 Minutes Till Dawn

Can you believe two dollars can get you a hundred hours of gameplay?

20 Minutes Till Dawn is a drug for players who long for that endless roguelike gameplay. It's unique art style and jam-packed bullet-hell craziness will keep you on your toes. Getting upgrades and powering up characters give more room to experiment and adapt to the game's near-endless grind.

11. Nightmare of Decay

A throwback to the good ol’ days of classic survival horror. Nightmare Of Decay is for gamers who enjoyed Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

Face deranged cultists or the relentless undead. Its first-person camera lets you take in the horror so prepare those diapers. For three dollars, you can get your money’s worth with its gripping story and palpable scares.

10. Retrowave

Put on that silver scorpion jacket and ride off to the neon-soaked sunset in this relaxing racing game.

It’s made for outrun fans who enjoy synthwave, neons, and the glamor of the 80s. Yes it has 45 synthwave tunes to go with your drives. And it features a handful of levels and cars to keep you going. All this for two dollars.

9. Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim

One of the weirdest games on this list. Imagine your favorite Dead by Daylight characters not running away from their killers and instead, dating them. This odd little spinoff from the usual hacking and slashing is a much needed reprieve for fans of the game.

Make tough choices and pick from a selection of possible killer-partners. You don’t have to take this game seriously. It's far from the tone and writing of the official Dead by Daylight game. This is all for fun.

8. FixFox

A fun game to play with your kids. FixFox’s adorable art style and simple point-and-click puzzles is perfect for relieving stress after a long day of work.

All you do is drive your trusty machine across an alien planet and fix things. You're also encouraged to explore and meet new characters. Its chiptune soundtrack is also a great companion.

7. Dungeons of Dreadrock

A game that’s been taking over our lists recently. Dreadrock borrows concepts from the other games and adds its own touch to gameplay. Everything just works with its simple premise and quirky writing.

There’s no need for a lengthy story campaign here. It’s a short but sweet experience for RPG fans who want to burn a few hours of their time.

6. Grapple Dog

This fantastic platform doesn't cost too much yet offers a lot of room for challenges. If you like Celeste and other tightly-designed 2D platforms, Grapple Dog delivers the same kind of fun.

It only has six levels but it doesn't mean the game is short. There are multitude of ways to clear each level. You can even try to beat your own record or do speed-runs.

5. Ravenous Devils

What happens if you mix business with murder? Ravenous Devil's morbid ways to profit is through killing, stealing, and serving hot corpse meals.

One is a tailor obsessed with re-selling his victim’s clothes, and the other is a chef who uses their organs to make food out of it. Yeah, it’s creepy.

It’s a point and click game so there’s not much to worry about. For 3 or so dollars, you can get four hours worth of morbid content.

4. RiffTrax: The Game

A party game where everyone can be funny. RiffTrax is all about that comedic timing and finding the perfect prompt to pair with a classic movie scene. You can play wherever, whenever as long as you have a phone with a working internet connection.

For only 10 dollars, you can spice up your boring Discord servers and enjoy a fun night separating the clowns from the comedic geniuses.

3. Sucker for Love: First Date

We take back what we said about that Dead by Daylight dating sim because this one absolutely takes the cake for the weirdest one on this list. It’s a dating game, sure, but you get to date Eldritch monsters?! Uhhh, would HP Lovecraft approve this?

Anyway, pick from a selection of incomprehensible beauties and make the most out of their unique traits. For a game about Eldritch terrors, there’s no horror here. Just plain… strangeness.

2. Dimension Tripper Neptune: TOP NEP

A rail shooter perfect for those looking for affordable, old-school experience. It’s based on the beloved Neptunia universe but you don’t have to play the other games to enjoy this at all.

This is a casual game ideal for quick breaks. Or if you’re waiting for that one other game to finish downloading. It’s fun and it doesn’t demand much of your time.

1. Monument Valley: Panoramic Edition

This is absolutely a must play for anyone who couldn’t get their hands on it on Android and iOS devices. As the name suggests, Panoramic Edition is much wider than on the mobile.

Solve puzzles by clicking and dragging objects to help a lone wanderer complete her mysterious quest. Every level is packed with something magical. Challenges and surprises comes with the game's tripping mechanics.
