Paper Trail, a game that takes players into a world made of paper, will be available on PC, PS5, Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Newfangled Games announced that they would also roll out Paper Trail for iOS and Android.
The 2D puzzle adventure game will debut via Netflix this year, said Henry Hoffman, Newfangled Games founder. We are thrilled to be partnering with Netflix on Paper Trail,
said Hoffman.
The BAFTA-winning game creator also said their recent collaboration with Netflix is a huge achievement for them as a team.
From publishing and helping us reach millions of players around the world, the support they've provided has been incredible,
he added. Paper Trail serves as Newfangled Games'Games' first major project. According to Hoffman, development took more than two years. And we can't wait for players to experience what we've been working on when it's released later this year,
said Hoffman.
Last February, the London-based studio announced launching Paper Trail on consoles and PCs in 2023.
Paper Trail tells the story of a budding academic named Paige who sets out on a journey to pursue her studies. The game features paper-based mechanics like paper folding as well as hand-drawn illustrations.
Paper Trail (redacted) draws heavily from flat aesthetic styles, like printmaking and watercolour, blended to create a uniquely styled game that compliments the paper theme,
developers said.
Before its launch, the game received multiple accolades, including the Best Family Game Award at Gamescom 2022. It also bagged the Game of the Year at Reboot Develop, Most Innovative at IndieX, and Best Mobile Game at Taipei Game Show. / ###
