The era of classic arcade games is not yet over. And this time, fans of the legendary PAC-MAN may have something to look forward to soon.

Bandai Namco revealed Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs. The latest game in PAC-MAN mega-franchise will land on PC and consoles this May 9, the Japanese video gaming giant announced.

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is a wild and brand-new take on the iconic PAC-MAN games. It is where PAC-MAN meets battle royale. Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is a multiplayer game that throws 64 players into a competitive eating, last-man-standing maze.

Gone are the days of simply avoiding Ghosts. In Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs, players will not only gobble up the usual diet of dots and fruits. But also strategically chomp down on other Pac-Man characters, according to Bandai Namco. They even use Power Items to turn the tables on the Ghosts, helping them chase down the competition.

"In the game, players must eat their way through multiple interconnected mazes to become the Chomp Champ – a.k.a. the last PAC standing at the end of each match," Bandai described.

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs will have several modes. This included the classic, arcade-style action called the Elimination Mode. In Elimination Mode, players of any rank can compete and earn Tokens.

These Tokens can then be used to purchase customization items. Meanwhile, a Ranked Mode is also available in the upcoming game. There, players battle against similarly skilled opponents from around the world. Ranked Mode enables them to gain Rank XP and earn their place on the leaderboards.

In the meantime, Bandai confirmed that Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs will feature a crossplay experience. It is also the first PAC-MAN title with a crossplay functionality.
