Creators of Expeditions, the upcoming spin-off of terrain sim MudRunner, are now counting down the hours before its debut.
Publisher Focus Entertainment is set to release Expeditions: A MudRunner Game this March 5. Still developed by Saber Interactive, the game will drop on PC and consoles. These include PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One, and Switch.
In the meantime, Focus confirmed players can try the game ahead of its full launch. The 'Early Unlock' for Expeditions went live last March 1. The Early Unlock allows players exclusive, pre-debut access to the game. It is only available to those who pre-purchased the game's Supreme or Year 1 editions.
MudRunner is the critically-acclaimed, off-road simulation that first came out in 2017. It is also developed by Saber Interactive, with Focus Entertainment as its publisher.
Expeditions is the third installment in the series. And its creators from Focus and Saber Interactive promised to offer 'more than just mud.'
Fans can expect an expanded gameplay in the latest MudRunner title. The game blends exploration, base management, narrative, and sci-fi elements. In it, players take on the role of a leader. Their task then is to guide a team of specialists across vast open worlds, including Little Colorado, Arizon, and Europe's Carpathian Mountains.
Aside from MudRunner's signature, all-terrain mechanics, Expeditions will include a narrative-driven lore. This means players get to choose which decisions and roads to take. In turn, these can impact its storyline, and even unlock new opportunities.
Additionally, the newest MudRunner game will focus more on exploration than transporting goods. Doing so, players can expect large, open-world environments.

Later in the year, Saber Interactive is also set to release a unique narrative racing game, Heading Out.
