One of the most highly anticipated indie titles, Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber, has finally gotten a release date.

Creators from Macula Interactive announced on August 28 that the game will launch this September 13. The historical narrative adventure game will be available for PC via Steam. It will also land on Xbox devices but at a later date.

"We're thrilled to finally share the release date for 'Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber,'" said Paola Vera, general director of Macula Interactive.

"This project has been a labor of love for our team, and we've poured our hearts and souls into creating an authentic and immersive experience that brings the history of Mexico to life," she added.

Set in 1921, the game follows Juan Aguirre. As a young photojournalist, he navigates the political and cultural landscape of Mexico City. Players will explore iconic landmarks. These included the National Palace and the old Merced Convent.

In addition, they will not only get to interact with historical figures. But also uncover the mystery behind the assassination of President Álvaro Obregón.

In "Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber," players can embark on a historical journey through 1920s Mexico City. They get to interact with influential figures and immerse themselves in the era's culture. The game also features in-game photography. This will allow players to capture their own unique memories and gather clues. Additionally, players can collect over 100 historical artifacts.

Mexico, 1921: A Deep Slumber has garnered international acclaim. The game received multiple nominations at prestigious gaming festivals. Like the London Games Festival, IndieCade, and the Latin American Games Showcase.

In the meantime, Macula Interactive confirmed that the demo version for the upcoming game is still live. Interested players can download it on Steam for PC.
