Creators of the upcoming cooking game Magical Delicacy has finally unveiled its release date.
Publisher Whitehorn Games recently announced that they will launch Magical Delicacy this July 16. They will roll out the title on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, subscribers of Xbox's Game Pass can play the game upon its launch.
The American indie game publisher made the reveal in the newest trailer for Magical Delicacy.
Developed by a solo developer, sKaule, Magical Delicacy is where Metroidvania-lite meets cooking. A pixel-art platformer, it tells the story of a young woman's quest to become a full-fledged witch.
Players step in the shoes of the protagonist Flora who, one day, arrives in the fictional and whimsical town of Grat. To achieve her dream, she must hone her magical skills.
And one way of doing this is to open a shop. Players then help Flora cook meals and brew magical potions for Brat's inhabitants. From townsfolks to mysterious travelers from faraway lands.
"As she traverses the cozy harbor town, she’ll discover the stories of the townsfolk and learn that there is more to Grat than meets the eye," the game's description read.
The gameplay in Magical Delicacy not only revolves around whipping up dishes, and satisfying cravings. But players need to also collect and gather ingredients, including rare ones, from shops. In addition, Flora can cultivate her own garden to keep her pantry in stock.
In true Metroidvania fashion, the game also allows players to explore the town for hidden treasures. They can navigate Grat during your deliveries, climb bell towers and old ramparts, or uncover lost caves.
