Nintendo on September 1st dropped the newest trailer for Echoes of Wisdom. The video, published on YouTube, offered a glimpse into the enigmatic Still World. But the real highlight of the trailer is Zelda's transformation into a swordfighter.
Zelda as the main playable character and leading the campaign has been touted as 'a bold departure' for the beloved franchise. Players will have the opportunity to test their wit and combat prowess as they guide the princess through a Hyrule unlike any seen before.
The latest trailer also provided previews of her in-game combat styles and mechanics.
Wielding a mysterious blade, she can unleash a flurry of attacks. But this powerful form comes with a caveat – it can only be sustained for a limited time.
To counter this, Zelda must collect energy scattered throughout the Still World. This will also allow her to utilize this potent ability strategically.
Meanwhile, players finally got a glimpse of Still World in Echoes of Wisdom. Still World is a realm accessible through mysterious rifts that suddenly appeared in Hyrule.
Here, fragments of the outside world - trees, landmasses, and even people - float suspended in a void. With the guidance of the ethereal creature Tri, Zelda ventures into the Still World. There, she must navigate intricate dungeons and confront formidable bosses.
The key to conquering these challenges lies in Zelda's newfound ability to create "echoes". These are imitations of objects and creatures found in her surroundings. This power, bestowed by Tri and the Tri Rod, allows Zelda to manipulate the Still World to her advantage.
Echoes can also serve as platforms to bridge gaps, shields to deflect enemy attacks or even tools to solve puzzles.
Aside from Tri, engineer Dampé also plays a crucial role in the game - by crafting helpful automatons for Zelda to use.
Echoes of Wisdom will debut on the Nintendo Switch family of systems this September 26th. The game is currently available for pre-order. Nintendo Switch Online members can also expect additional incentives.
Players can also opt to buy the special edition Nintendo Switch Lite: Hyrule Edition bundle. It contains exclusive game merchandise.
