For players looking to learn a new language while having fun, here's something they may look forward to.
Language Adventure, a stop-motion animated language-learning game, is coming soon.
The new stop-motion animated game is in the works at Wonky Games, an indie studio based in the UK. Chris Mitchell, who also serves in a kid arts club in Sheffield, oversees the game's development.
Language Adventure is a point-and-click adventure game that features hand-made stop-motion and in-camera animation. The game's story is set in a small town where an alien spaceship has crash-landed. Players, in turn, must learn to communicate with the aliens and help them return home.
According to Wonky Games, the game is suitable for beginners and intermediate learners of all languages. Its English version is set to be finished first. And the developers have also brought in comedian Adam Buxton as the voice actor of the main character.
Language Adventure will be released for PC, Mac, and Linux, with plans to port to mobile and Switch.
We plan on porting it to Mobile and Switch after the PC version is finished,
said Mitchell.
More details about the upcoming game have yet to be revealed, including its planned release date. In the meantime, Wonky Games has initiated a Kickstarter campaign for its production.
On September 4, developers opened a Kickstarter page for the upcoming game to pool $15,085 to fund its development. The project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by 4:30 p.m. on October 4, Australian Western Standard Time (AWST).
Wonky Games also pledged to reward backers and supporters of their Kickstarter perks. These included exclusive content and early access.
Some of the rewards are limited in quantity, so don't miss this chance to get them,
they said. The English version will be the first to be finished, featuring comedian Adam Buxton as the main character's voice.
Learn a new language with the help of cute aliens and stunning animation. Interested in learning more about Language Adventure and supporting the project? Visit the Kickstarter page or follow the game on social media for updates and sneak peeks.
