A new indie game just came out. And it's one for fans of the dungeon-crawler and roguelite genres.
Publisher Dear Villagers announced the debut of The Land Beneath Us. The indie game, which combines dungeon-crawling adventure with turn-based combat, launched on May 13.
It can be played on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
The Land Beneath Us is developed by FairPlay Studios, an indie studio based in Thailand. Its creators promised to deliver an 'endlessly replayable experience.' The game contains not only dungeon crawling and turn-based combat elements. But also rogue-lite features.
In it, players find themselves in Annwn, a mythological underworld by Welsh folklore.
They take the shoes of a powerful robot, called the Ultimate Soul Harvester (U.S.H), tasked to the Seven Lords in Annwn. In doing so, they need to venture deep into the magical realm. Along the way, players will also have the chance to save The Creator.
They need to also get their hands on soul tech, a technology that would help them uncover the mysteries in Annwn.
Wielding stylish weaponry and unleashing devastating skill combos, players must also overcome challenging encounters. This included fighting enemies via turn-based strategies.
"Enjoy challenging dynamic encounters and discover the mysteries of this mythological world," creators said.
In the meantime, FairPlay Studios confirmed that demo versions of The Land Beneath Us remain online even after the game's launching.
"Yes!!! We decided to put the demo live even after the release. If you're hesitating, try out the demo and you'll tell me that you wanna be one of the underworld dwellers forever!" they wrote on the game's Steam page.
The Land Beneath Us is priced at €14.99. But in celebration of its launch, its creators will be giving a limited-time discount of up to 20 percent. / ###
