Nightdive Studios has launched Killing Time: Resurrected, an HD remaster of the cult-classic 1995 first-person shooter about demonic clowns and ghosts. It is available now on Windows PC and consoles.

This DOOM-like remaster brings back the supernatural thrills, dark humor, and campy full-motion-video sequences that made the original a hit.

The game takes place in the 1930s where players assume the role of a former Egyptology student trapped in a cursed estate. They must navigate a mansion filled with supernatural horrors and find a way to destroy a mystical Egyptian Water-Clock.

This remaster boasts high-resolution character sprites, upscaled textures, smoother gameplay, and modernized controls. Combat is no longer as frustrating as the original.

Players will also experience restored live-action video sequences, offering clues to the eerie events within the Conway mansion. Apart from that, it also comes with support for up to 4K resolution at 144 FPS, enhanced visuals, and no load times between areas. This makes it the definitive way to experience Killing Time.

“We worked closely with the team over at Nightdive to ensure Killing Time: Resurrected would be a faithful recreation that honored the original title and fanbase while also updating it for play on modern platforms. In that pursuit, I believe Ziggurat and Nightdive succeeded.” said Ziggurat Interactive’s VP, Kate Woods.

Killing Time: Resurrected is Ziggurat Interactive’s more recent project after its massive history of retro titles. Nightdive Studios, responsible for titles like System Shock and the Turok Remaster, did a great job of preserving Killing Time’s 1995 aesthetics without sacrificing its charm.

The game is available for $24.99 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, with a free copy of the original game for those who purchase on Steam and GOG within 30 days.
