Publisher Midwest Games announced the upcoming release of Hive Jump 2: Survivors. This sci-fi bullet heaven roguelike will be available on Windows PC via Steam and GOG on September 10, 2024. For those eager to jump into the action, the Early Access build is currently live.

The game is gearing up for its full launch next month.

In this fast-paced roguelike, players take on the role of the lone survivor of an intergalactic ambush. Armed with jetpacks and fueled by vengeance, they must fend off endless waves of insects to avenge their fallen squad.

Fans of bullet heaven titles like Vampire Survivors, an all-time best PC game, or the more casual Brotato will find themselves lost in its endless replayability.

The upcoming update will feature four distinct biomes, each with unique enemies and environments. Players will traverse Crystal Caverns, Frozen Tundra, Volcanic Wasteland, and the newly introduced Mushroom Forests. Each biome is designed to challenge players, requiring new tactics and upgrades to survive.

Players familiar with this series know that this is the sequel to the sci-fi action platformer Hive Jump. Gameplay was a far cry compared to this latest entry. Instead, the original borrowed Metroid’s platformer combat mixed with Helldivers’ insect stomping action.

Hive Jump 2: Survivors currently stands at a ‘Positive’ rating on Steam’s Early Access. Players praised the game’s rewarding meta progression and its unique ‘jetpack’ mechanic. Others enjoyed it for the mindless shootouts.

The game launches on September 10, 2024. Players who enjoy Survivors-like titles can wishlist the game today.
