Funcom announced ‘Metal: Hellsinger VR.’ This is a full virtual reality release for Lab42’s heavy metal rhythm shooter. The game will be available on Meta Quest 2 & 3, Meta Quest Pro, and PS VR 2 this Fall 2024.
As part of the Upload VR Showcase, the demo was introduced by Matt Heafy, guitarist and lead vocalist for the heavy metal band Trivium.
Players can get a slice of this fiery action right now with the newly released demo on Steam.
It is important to note that this VR version will not be free for current owners of the base game.
The demo introduces players to a brand-new lobby. It is an immersive area where players can select levels, music, loadouts, and a whole lot more. It includes the first two missions, Voke and Stygia, and showcases four powerful weapons.
Among these weapons are Paz, a loyal, talkative skull companion that scorches enemies with fiery bolts. Terminus, a wickedly agile sword; The Hounds, a set of demonic twin pistols; and Persephone, a shotgun with a thunderous bark.
Each weapon features a unique ultimate ability such as Terminus's double-time tempo slashes or Paz's stunning lightning strike. All weapons can be freely aimed in full VR.
Metal: Hellsinger was a breakout hit back in 2022. Battle through hordes of evil incarnate to an award-winning soundtrack composed by the duo Two Feathers and performed by metal legends such as Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Matt Heafy (Trivium), and Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy).
It received over 11 thousand ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews on Steam. Most players praised its heavy metal soundtrack and its responsive first-person shooter action. The PC version received a playscore of 8.6 on whatoplay database.
Players can delve into Hell immediately on Steam in preparation for the big update. The game is currently at 67% Off on Steam as part of Valve’s Annual Summer Sale.
Get a taste of the action in today’s free demo and prepare for the full game’s release in Fall 2024.
