Fans of the detective genre, here's something to look forward to. Publisher Assemble Entertainment has revealed more details of its newest title, Hauma - A Detective Noir Story. During the Indie Live Expo on May 20, the German publisher announced that they will launch Hauma - A Detective Noir Story this year.
(The game) is coming later this fall to Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam and Itch.io,
Assemble Entertainment said. Hauma's stand-out narrative delivery and female-led plot make it an excellent addition to this year's showcase that celebrates indie developers and their games from around the world,
the publisher added.
SenAm Games, an independent gaming studio based in Munich, Germany, is actively developing the investigative and narrative-style game, Hauma - A Detective Noir Story. This highly anticipated title marks their first major project.
Hauma - A Detective Noir Story will launch on PC and Switch devices between September and October. It features a combination of point-and-click, detective, and visual novel elements. The game takes players to a fictionalized version of Munich. There, they become Judith, the protagonist. As Judith, they need to use deduction in uncovering a conspiracy involving Munich's upper classes with their "Mindboard." The Mindboard is Judith's handy companion in storing items, thoughts, and clues to solve the mysteries around her.
Assemble Entertainment said the game would allow players to explore Judith's world, drawn in comic-book style.
"The story of Hauma unfolds in a thrilling, comic-inspired visual style that only amplifies the unique storytelling elements," the publisher said. Development for Hauma - A Detective Noir Story began in 2018. In 2022, the game bagged the "Best Prototype" award during the Indie Game Fest.
A demo version of Hauma - A Detective Noir Story is available on Steam.
