Japanese gaming giant Bandai announced on February 2 that the third season of their popular PVP shooter, Gundam Evolution, is already in the works. The FPS game's latest update, titled "Defender," is scheduled to launch on April 5.
Producers will introduce at least three new playable Gundams in the upcoming season. One of them is Hyperion Gundam. Bandai said the suit, with its iconic G-Maneuver "Armure Lumiere Lancer" will drop this February.
The second unit will come out in March, they added. As of this writing, Bandai has yet to provide further details about the other upcoming Gundams.
A day before unveiling Defencer, executives at Bandai had confirmed that a major update is on the way. They even revealed a few details about the new content. These included merging North America and Europe for matchmaking, balance patches, and a series of major updates.
Kazuya Maruyama, the Executive Producer of Gundam Evolution, said the season update would also include an expansion of the online tournament. He added that they would soon open online tournaments in the North, Central, and South American regions.
Rest assured we are working to expand further, so please stay tuned for further information regarding other areas,
Maruyama wrote in a Developer Blog published on the gaming platform Stream on February 1.
Gundam Evolution's online tournament is currently limited to residents in the United States only. Meanwhile, Bandai will also roll out multiple updates throughout Season 3, called the "Hyper Update," which will go live at the start of the season. Players can expect various campaigns and events within three months.
Gundam Evolution first launched in 2022 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. / ###
