Upcoming indie game Great God Grove just got a release date. Creators from LimboLane and Fellow Traveller have announced that Great God Grove will arrive on November 15.
The game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Great God Grove will also be showcased during Steam Next Fest which will run from October 14 to 21.
The game follows a mail-carrier tasked with saving the world from an impending apocalypse. Every once in a while, the gods come together to postpone the apocalypse. But one day, the god of communication started a bunch of fights before going awol.
"With the sky splitting and the gods in disarray, who’s gonna join the Bizzyboys to help SAVE DA WORLD FROM A-POCKY-LIPS???" the game's description reads.
Players will take the role of the gods' new messenger. They will have the ability to absorb speech bubbles and fire them at others.
"As the gods’ new mail-carrier, suck up lines of dialogue with your mail-cannon and launch them back to solve puzzles," developers described.
In the game, players will encounter a colorful cast of characters. Developers said the game will have at least 60 characters. This will include bizarre gods and quirky individuals.
Great God Grove also features a semi-choice system. This means that players' decisions could influence the characters' emotions and actions.
"Listen to their woes and wonders, then deliver key messages to solve their problems—or just to see how they’ll react!" developers added.
The game also has a vibrant world to explore. In Great God Grove, players can expect a combination of third and first-person gameplay.
LimboLane, the creative duo behind Great God Grove, is known for its quirky and surreal games. Their previous title, Smile For Me, was released in 2019 and received positive reviews.
