Survive the Storm as Frostpunk 2 Launches in 2024 Plus a New Game Reveal, The Invincible

On June 11, 2023, developer 11 bit studios released two new game trailers for their upcoming titles, Frostpunk 2 and The Invincible, at the PC Gaming Show.

The City Must Not Fall

Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to the award-winning, best-selling survival game, Frostpunk. 11 bit studios revealed that the game will launch on PC in 2024.

In the game, players step into a frozen world 30 years after the cataclysmic blizzard. They command a resource-hungry metropolis as its leader. They aim to uncover new power sources to ensure survival and propel society's growth in Frostpunk 2.

One of the key aspects of Frostpunk 2 is the evolving nature of its inhabitants. As people adapt to the frozen world and the threat of frost diminishes, human nature comes into play. Personal ambition and greed for power may lead to the downfall of the City.

In Frostpunk 2, players must balance survival with societal cohesion. Decisions made by a leader can either lead to prosperity or ruin for The City and its inhabitants.

Frostpunk 2 is still a game about the City and its society, states Jakub Stokalski, game Co-Director, and Design Director at 11 bit studios. But this time the inner turmoils, sparked by rising social differences, mean that players will be facing new kinds of threats that are beyond the bare survival from the first game. We still use that postapocalyptic, frozen setup, to tell a meaningful story about human ambition, societies striving for their ideas, and the consequences of hard decisions which are not always respected by everyone. Because ultimately, what can end us is not nature itself - it's human nature.

Science Over Conquest, Discover Yasna's Story

At the PC Gaming Show, 11 bit studios revealed the game trailer for their brand new game, The Invincible. The game is published by 11 bit studios and developed by Starward Industries.

The Invincible is a narrative-driven sci-fi adventure that explores humanity's limitless ambition—the ambition to explore and claim ownership over the discoveries we make.

The game trailer follows the story of Yasna, an astrobiologist, who awakens on Regis III. She explores the planet and meets different creatures in search of her missing crew. Her curiosity begins questioning the ambitions and biases of humanity on Regis III.

"Yasna isn't terrified by the cosmos, but rather amazed by the vision of its undiscovered phenomena. Her training as an astrobiologist helps her handle stress and maintain focus when she wakes up on the unknown planet without her crew and with holes in her memories," specifies Magdalena Kucenty, Narrative Designer at Starward Industries. "In the beginning, her professionalism and natural curiosity push her forward to look for answers and to successfully complete her mission. However, her attitude slowly changes throughout the game, as she is faced with morally difficult decisions and the realization that not everything, everywhere is for us".

The Invincible is set for release this year on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

Players can try two different demo versions of The Invincible. The demos are available during the publisher sale on Steam from June 8-19 and the Steam Next Fest on June 19-26. The first demo is the same demo that was available in May. The second demo is a new part of the game called "Convoy."
