Fort Solis, a new story-driven sci-fi video game, launched today on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Developed by Fallen Leaf and published by Dear Villagers, Fort Solis is a cinematic adventure in an eerie sci-fi setting. The story centers around Jack Leary as investigates what happened to the crew of an isolated Martian mining base.
Guillaume Jamet, Head of Publishing for Dear Villagers, said, It’s not focused on explosions or combat, but rather a simple tale of people in an inhospitable place making complex, morally ambiguous decisions. It’s the kind of sci-fi that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, it features detailed graphics and environments to immerse players in the remoteness of deep space. The game also boasts an impressive voice cast, including Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Troy Baker (The Last of Us), and Julia Brown (The Last Kingdom).
Fort Solis is presented without camera cuts, load times, or HUD for a seamless cinematic experience. The sci-fi thriller comes in four chapters that you can binge in one session or play it chapter by chapter.
The game aims to evoke classic sci-fi films like Alien, Solaris, and Moon with its moody atmosphere and emphasis on human drama over combat. Fort Solis is now available on PS5 for $29.99 and on PC via Steam for $24.99. It will launch for Mac on October 26.
The developers said Fort Solis is a passion project several years in the making. They hope the game will resonate with sci-fi fans looking for a narrative-focused adventure.
