Fight Crab, the hit indie game where "crab gladiators" take center stage, will get a sequel. And it is expected to enter Early Access before 2023 ends.

Publisher PLAYISM has revealed the development of Fight Crab 2. The Japanese publisher said the game will launch in Early Access via Steam.

PLAYISM and developer Calappa Games have yet to announce the price and release date. But they have provided details about Fight Crab 2 before its PC launch.

Like its predecessor, Fight Crab 2 takes players into an intense arena battle between gigantic crabs. In the newest edition, however, players will take control of human characters who will mount and control gigantic crabs for the fight.

Masafumi Onuki, also known as Nusso and who runs Calappa Games, also said Fight Crab 2 will contain new features not found in the first game. This included a brand new mode called Career Mode. In Career Mode, players can raise their own crabs and compete in Crab Leagues. Fight Crab 2 will introduce online multiplayer matches, where players can compete with other players worldwide in 1-on-1 matches or fight rooms of up to five players.

Onuki also confirmed players can customize their own house rules "for more fun and challenge." Aside from new play modes, Fight Crab 2 will have an improved control scheme with its newest 'Modern' control option.

Developers said the Modern control option would sport a hud typical of a third-person action game.

Other new features expected in Fight Crab's sequel included a live commentary and skills for crabs.

I want even more people to play with my crabs! And so I made this new game, said Onuki.

The first Fight Crab game came out in 2020, receiving positive reviews from gamers and critics alike. The 3D action game got a playscore of 8.1 on Whatoplay.com.
