Fairy Tail 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2020 RPG of the hit manga series, will hit PC and consoles soon. And to drum up excitement, KOEI TECMO and developer Gust just dropped the game's entire opening video.
On October 29, publisher KOEI TECMO released the game’s opening cinematic on YouTube. For the first time, fans and eager players got a first look at the game's major story elements.
While it does not reveal new gameplay previews, it confirms the upcoming game's storyline. The opening video highlights the Alvarez Empire Arc. It introduces players to members of the FAIRY TAIL guild as they battle Emperor Spriggan Zeref and his team of elites. The cinematic showed some of the manga's iconic adversaries like Spriggan 12 and the Black Dragon Acnologia. KOEI TECMO also unveiled more information about Fairy Tail 2.
The Japanese publisher also revealed an extended storyline titled “Key to the Unknown." It can be accessible after completing the main chapters.
Players will venture into new areas, joining familiar characters like Natsu and Lucy in various quests. These ranged from treasure hunts in hidden forests to competitions at Akane Beach.
Additional features include a Photo Mode. It will enable players to capture favorite moments and characters.
In the meantime, KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Gust announced the opening of digital pre-orders for Fairy Tail 2.
Digital pre-orders for “Fairy Tail 2” come in two options: a standard edition and a “Digital Deluxe” version.
The deluxe version comes with collaborative costumes from the Atelier Ryza Secret series. It will also contain exclusive items, and an “Atelier Lucy” bonus feature.
