Capcom announced that its online team-based action game, Exoprimal, will launch on July 14, 2023. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Director Takuro Hiraoka showcased a sneak peek at the upcoming seasonal updates. The updates include a new mode, Alpha and Beta Exosuit variants, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter 6 crossovers, and more.
In Exoprimal, players take on the role of Exofighters equipped with powerful Exosuits to battle waves of dinosaurs. The game features two main modes: Dino Survival and Savage Gauntlet. In Dino Survival, two squads of five players compete to complete objectives and survive against the dinosaurs. Savage Gauntlet is a co-op mode where teams of five players compete globally against each other with PvE missions to get the highest score.
One of the new features coming to Exoprimal is the "Final Mission Selection" option. This allows players to choose between PvP, PvE, or random matches in the Dino Survival mode. PvP will pit two teams of Exofighters against each other at the end of matches. In PvE, the team that completes the objectives the fastest will win. The random option will assign players to either PvP or PvE matches, and it also offers a small experience bonus.
Capcom also revealed a roadmap of upcoming content updates.
Season 1 will begin at the game launch and introduce a new game mode, Savage Gauntlet, on July 28. Savage Gauntlet provides players with late-game PvE missions. These missions repeat and rotate weekly, offering players higher rankings and rewards. The first major title update is set to release on Aug. 17, 2023, introducing 10 Alpha variant Exosuits. The new alternate Exosuits offer different weapons from their standard counterparts.
Season 2 will start in mid-October 2023, introducing the next title update. The update will feature a Street Fighter 6 collaboration, a new map, "Final Mission," rigs, and modules.
In January 2024, Season 3 of Exoprimal will bring a new wave of content. This includes Beta variant Exosuits, a new foe called the Neo Triceratops, and a collaboration with the Monster Hunter series. Visit the official website for more information.
