Rockstar Games may have revived the Wild West genre with the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 back in 2018, but Flying Wild Hog is set to bring a new twist to the cowboy era with their upcoming game, Evil West.

Check out the reveal trailer:

Here’s the official description:

A dark menace consumes the American frontier. As one of the last agents in a top-secret vampire-hunting institute, you are the final line between humanity and a deep-rooted terror that now emerges from the shadows. Rise up to become a Wild West Superhero, eradicate the vampire threat and save the United States!
In visceral, explosive combat, unleash hell with your firearms, lightning-fueled gauntlet and gadgets. Kill bloodthirsty monstrosities in style as a lone hunter or in co-op with a friend. Explore and fight in a narrative-driven campaign while upgrading your weapons and hunting tools. Unlock new perks to evolve your monster-slaying mastery, crafting your own playstyle to defeat the supernatural hordes.

The game is actually playable solo or co-op, and will be a PlayStation exclusive when it comes out next year. While we don’t have a look at gameplay yet, we should expect this one to play like a shooter where you can alternate between several weapons and gadgets, all while fighting a demonic horde of vampires and demons.

I mean, Red Dead has been lauded for its insane attention to detail and realism, but sometimes you just want to be a cowboy taking out vampires and the rest of the undead with mythical, steampunk weapons.

No release date has been set for Evil West yet, but it is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and PS5 sometime in 2021.
