EVE Online, the massive multiplayer online game running for two decades, is getting another spin-off. And this time, it will be for Android and iOS devices.

During the EVE Fanfest Keynote presentation, the game's creators, CCP Games, revealed EVE Galaxy Conquest.

The upcoming game will be EVE Online's first foray into the world of mobile gaming.

CCP Games has also disclosed more details about EVE Galaxy Conquest, including a tentative launch year.

Based on a press release, the Icelandic game developer planned to release the free-to-play mobile game globally this 2025. A soft launch in select regions is also expected within the last quarter of 2023.

EVE Galaxy Conquest soft launches in select regions on iOS and Android devices in Q4 2023, they said.

EVE Galaxy Conquest is currently being developed by CCP Games' subsidiary based in Shanghai, CCP Shanghai.

Michael Lee, Brand Director at CCP Shanghai, said they decided to try something new and promising for EVE Galaxy Conquest. According to Lee, they wanted to reimagine MMO into a compelling 4X strategy game.

EVE Galaxy Conquest doesn’t merely adapt the iconic EVE Online experience for mobile gamers, he said.

EVE Galaxy Conquest will be a free-to-play, 4X strategy mobile game. It will feature PvP combats in the vast and rich cosmos of New Eden. In it, players can choose from one of the four powerful empires to lead their characters and fleets into epic battles. These empires are the Caldari State, Gallente Federation, Amarr Empire, and the Minmatar Republic.

The game also retains EVE’s signature characteristic of having meaningful consequences for every action and decision players make in the game. EVE Galaxy Conquest has truly been a labor of love for our team, said Bing Xi, General Manager and Executive Producer at CCP Shanghai. / ###
