Creators of Dynasty Warriors: Origins continues to drum up excitement leading to the game's release. And this time, players and fans can finally try out the game itself.
Japanese video game company KOEI TECMO announced rolling out the demo version of Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Titled the “Battle of Sishui Gate”, the demo went live last November 22. It can be accessed on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
KOEI also started accepting digital pre-orders for the upcoming game. The free demo for Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers a taste of the massive combat scenarios of Dynasty Warriors.
In the "Battle of Sishui Gate", players find themselves in coalition forces led by Yuan Shao clash with Dong Zhuo’s army.
Players will fight alongside historical figures like Cao Cao, Sun Jian, and Liu Bei. At the same time, wielding four of the nine weapon types available in the game, including the Sword, Guandao, Pudao, and Wheels.
The demo also introduces customization options. This includes Battle Arts, gems, and accessories, allowing players to experiment with their combat style.
Origins is the latest installment in the long-running Dynasty Warriors franchise. The game immerses players in the chaos of ancient China during the Three Kingdoms period. With pivotal events from the “Yellow Turban Rebellion” to the climactic “Battle of Chibi,” the game allows players to shape history.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins also marks a return to the franchise’s roots with an emphasis on storytelling and tactical combat.
Players assume the role of a nameless martial artist with amnesia, accompanied by a travelling boy named Yuanhua.
As the story unfolds, players make key decisions that shape their journey toward the epic “Battle of Chibi,” a defining moment in the Three Kingdoms saga.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is being developed by Omega Force.
The game will come in two digital editions: the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe includes not only the base game, a digital artbook, and the soundtrack. But also useful in-game items, and 72-hour early access to the game before its official launch.
Players who pre-order digitally will get to receive the exclusive "Nameless Warrior Garb" costume for the protagonist. It is inspired by Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
Those purchasing any edition before January 30, 2025, will also receive a soundtrack collection. It will feature tracks from earlier entries in the series.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is set to launch this January 17, 2025. / ###
