Dwerve, the indie game where nostalgic RPG meets tower defense, is expanding to Nintendo Switch devices.

Developers from Half Human Games confirmed Dwerve will hit Switch consoles this October 12. They made their announcement by dropping the game's Switch video trailer on YouTube.

Aside from Nintendo Switch, the Florida-based indie studio also announced that PC players can access the game on Epic Games Store.

Dwerve tells the story of the titular dwarven tinkerer Dwerve, and his quest to save the dwarves from the evil Witch-Queen Vandra.

The game features a combination of dungeon-crawler RPG and tower-defense mechanics. In it, players will guide Dwerve in surviving a ruined kingdom. And to fend off enemies, they need to build, customize, and upgrade turrets and traps.

According to its developers, Dwerve is inspired by classic SNES games such as A Link to the Past and modern tower-defense titles like Orcs Must Die!

Being a nostalgic SNES-inspired action-adventure with innovative tower-defense combat, Dwerve is a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch, said Percy Legendre IV, co-founder of Half Human Games.

Dwerve is Half Human Games' debut title. Developers have been working on it for over four years. The game made its debut on Steam last May 2022. Upon its release, it received critical acclaim from gamers and critics alike.

Dwerve was also shortlisted for several awards at various events, such as being selected for the PAX Rising Indie Showcase. Whatoplay gave it a gamerscore of 7.1, based on over 400 reviews on Steam.

In the meantime, players can already wishlist the game on Nintendo's eShop as well as the Epic Games Store. The game will be carrying a price tag of US $19.99.

We call upon brave tinkerers to arm themselves with turrets and prepare for the battles to come! developers said. / ###
