The critically acclaimed survival horror game, Crow Country is set to launch on Nintendo Switch on October 16, just in time for the Halloween season.

Protganist Mara Forest’s arrival in this twisted park is met with untold horrors and psychological dread. The year is 1990. The once flourishing attraction owned by the missing Edward Crow is now a dilapidated wasteland of silence and mystery. What happened in Crow Country? Who is Mara Forest? Where is Edward Crow? Only by playing the game can you answer those questions.

Crow Country borrows notable mechanics from iconic survival horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, from fixed camera angles to resource management.

Deadly creatures lurk in the shadows, and every bullet counts in this battle for survival. Players will encounter strange NPCs and solve puzzles along the way, ultimately unraveling the deeper secrets found at the core of this place.

Adam Vian, Creative Director at SFB Games, shared his excitement for this Switch port, stating that, “The console is a perfect match for the game, and Halloween is the ideal time for players to dive into this horror adventure.”

Crow Country received an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam from over three thousand users. On whatoplay, it also received playscores of 9.0 on PC and 8.9 on PlayStation 5.

Gamers called its gameplay and story ‘Peak,’ which is Gen-Z for something really good. Critics on the other hand praised the game for its excellent presentation and subversive elements. According to them, this is a game best played blind.

Crow Country's success also marked a resurgence for retro-style survival horror titles. Developers Rose-Engine did the same thing with SIGNALIS which released 2 years ago.

For the first time, Japanese localisation will be featured on all platforms.

The game will be available for £16.75/ €19.49/$19.99 on Nintendo Switch and PS4, with the same pricing on Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
