Here's some fantastic news for fans of Cult of the Lamb, the roguelike game where you become a sheep that starts its own cult. Publisher Devolver Digital will roll out the first major content update for Cult of the Lamb. Titled Relics of the Old Faith, the DLC will go live on April 24.
The American indie publisher added that Relics of the Old Faith would also be a free update. Fans and first-time players of the award-winning 2D action game can expect a new storyline, quests, and improved quality-of-life aspects.
According to its creators, the upcoming DLC will take gamers to the events after the campaign in the base game. They will encounter a "mysterious being" asking them "to conquer revamped crusades and enemies," including the four Bishops. The update will also contain deeper combat with Relics and Heavy Attacks and two new modes - the Boss Rush and Permadeath.
Other additions coming to Cult of the Lamb include an upgraded Cult management, a photo mode, and more accessibility options, to name a few. Devolver Digital has also dropped a teaser video, revealing snippets of gameplay previews from Relics of the Faith.
Meanwhile, developers from Massive Monster expressed gratitude to players who supported and praised Cult of the Lamb.
To be honest, we never expected so many people to want to play our game. The devotion you've shown is beyond our wildest dreams,
they wrote on Steam. In turn, developers decided to pack as much as they possibly could into the free update.
We want to make Cult of the Lamb the best game it can be so we've taken many requests and comments from you, our community of followers,
they added.
