It’s no mystery that CD Projekt Red has been in hot water since the botched release of Cyberpunk 2077. While the studio is still recuperating from its losses, they’ve revealed that they’ve become victim to a cyber-attack.

Apparently, some ‘unidentified actor’ gained access to the internal systems of CDPR and is threatening to sell or leak the data that they’ve obtained from the studio and ‘our contacts in gaming journalism.’ We don’t know exactly what their demands are for now, but they have threatened CDPR to contact them within 48 hours.
While we have no idea what these hackers want from the studio, CDPR has already stated that they won’t give in to the demands of this cyber-attacker.
They write:
For now, fans are just waiting to see what happens. We don’t know what motive the hackers have for the studio, but after the fiasco with Cyberpunk and the recent Reddit vs. Wall Street event with GameStop, fans can’t help but speculate that this is another ‘fight the power’ moment with CD Projekt Red as the ‘big bad studio.’
On the other hand, some fans are concerned that this is a severe overreaction that could lead to people losing jobs. Here’s what people are saying on Twitter:
Eh, I don't exactly feel bad for CDPR.

The individual employees? Sure.
The guys in the suits? Nah. Fuck 'em.https://t.co/D1fPz6pA0L
It's so upsetting to see people treat CDPR like shit. The threats they have received and now this is simply unacceptable.

Yes CDPR made a number of mistakes with Cyberpunk but that does not mean that the company deserves to collapse or receive hate.

This is shitty, and a lot of the replies are equally so. No matter how bad you perceive a game to be, there’s no excuse for this. At all. https://t.co/n144BMgJ0o

How far some you cunts are willing to go just to shit on a company for not meeting your expectations is absolutely appalling. https://t.co/DWo3d84y1M
