Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 garnered 3 nominations: Best Audio, Best Game Design and Best Narrative. This marks yet another year where Baldur’s Gate 3 dominates an Award Show after its BAFTA and The Game Awards sweep last year.

Indie titles were the main focus of The Belgian Game Awards. Despite Baldur Gate 3’s universal acclaim, it was tied to Pipette Inc’s The Man Came Around. A captivating noir adventure with point and click as its gameplay mechanic. It was nominated for Best Applied Game, Best Narrative, and Best Visual Art.

Other games included in the nominees list were the hidden-object game from Thomas Waterzooi, Please, Touch The Artwork 2, Bolt Blaster Games’ GAZZLERS, Oddshot Games’ Slapshot Rebound and more.

Apart from the Standard Categories, several prestigious awards are still in the jury’s discretion such as the ‘Most Anticipated’ award.

Players who want to give their voice can also participate in the Audience Award with its voting period opening soon. And of course, one exceptional game will also take home the coveted Belgian Game of the Year trophy.

Game studios haven't been left out either. This year also opens up with three dedicated awards, namely, Most Promising Start-Up Studio, Changemaker of the Year, and Best Tech Provider.

This year’s Belgian Game Awards is organized by FLEGA and BelgianGames, with the support of key partners in the Belgian gaming ecosystem.

BGA’s 2024 edition also brings an interesting twist to its awards format by using Olympic-style medals as rewards. Which means Gold, Silver or Bronze will add a creative way to show prestige for the competition.

The live awards show is scheduled for October 18th at Brussels Expo. It is the place where the best of Belgian game development will be celebrated. Fans and industry professionals alike are invited to discover the standout titles in the running for these top honors. Tickets are on sale now.
