<p>Polyarc, developers behind the Moss franchise, celebrates the launch of the Meta Quest 3S with new updates for <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/moss/">Moss</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/moss-book-ii/">Moss: Book II</a>. </p>

<p>The free updates will be available for Meta Quest 3 and 3S users. It includes enhanced visuals, a combat skip feature, and several quality-of-life improvements.</p>

<p>Polyarc’s lead engineer, Brendan Walker, showcased these enhancements in an unboxing video of the Quest 3S, offering a glimpse into the technical improvements players can expect.</p>

<p>Moss gets the biggest visual overhaul compared to its sequel, which has not received a major update since Quest 1. With the power of the Quest 3S, Moss will now be rendered at 150% of its original resolution, boasting improved lighting, realistic water effects, and animated book pages.</p> 

<p>This ultimately brings it in line with the visual fidelity of Moss: Book II.</p>

<p>Both games will feature an ability to skip combat. This enables players to bypass combat encounters so they can enjoy a more relaxed, story-driven experience. It makes the primary focus the exploration and puzzles rather than fighting.</p> 

<p>This update is a huge win for new VR users or those who may not enjoy combat. It ensures they can still immerse themselves in the narrative adventure with Quill, the franchise's beloved protagonist.</p>

<p>Hell is Us, or HiU is set in a country devastated by civil war. Players follow a protagonist on a journey to uncover the truth about his past while facing otherworldly threats. Secret Mode Celebrates 13 nominations at TIGA Games Industry Awards 2024

<p>The Yakuza games continue to expand in an unpredictable fashion with <strong>Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii</strong>.</p> 

<p>Last Friday, Sega of America and Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) announced the latest entry to its award-winning action-adventure series. The game will be released on <strong>February 28, 2025</strong> for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3061810/Like_a_Dragon_Pirate_Yakuza_in_Hawaii/">Steam</a>.</p>

<p>Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza is the latest title from RGG’s renowned franchise.</p> 

<p>It follows the story of Majima as he travels across the vast ocean in search of his missing memories. Accompanied by a boy named Noah, they’re caught up in a conflict between criminals, modern-day pirates and other scoundrels over a legendary treasure.</p>  

<p>The gameplay will return to the series’ traditional third-person brawler combat. <p>This refined battle system allows Majima to dynamically switch between two fighting styles. Players can pick between a pirate-centric moveset such as swashbuckling and dual wielding with the ‘Sea Dog’ style or utilize speed and agility with the infamous ‘Mad Dog’ style.</p>

<p>Two Point Studios Limited and SEGA Europe officially announced that <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/two-point-museum/">Two Point Museum</a> will launch on <strong>March 4, 2025.</strong> Pre-orders are now available for all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.</p>

<p>Two Point Museum is the brand new game from the creators of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/two-point-hospital/">Two Point Hospital</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/two-point-campus/">Two Point Campus</a>. It is a management <a href="https://whatoplay.com/xbox-series-x/best/simulation/">simulation</a> title similar to titles like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/planet-coaster/">Planet Coaster</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/tropico-6/">Tropico</a>, or even <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/rollercoaster-tycoon-3/">Roller Coaster Tycoon</a>. It involves players building and curating their dream museum, with full control over exhibit design and the overall visitor experience.</p>

Two Point Museum Set to Open Its Doors Next Year, Pre-Orders Now Live

<p>In an unexpected announcement, Bandai Namco Europe has unveiled that they are working on <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/freedom-wars-remastered/">Freedom Wars Remastered</a>, a revamped version of the hit PlayStation Vita action game. It is set to launch on <strong>January 10, 2025</strong>, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3004100/FREEDOM_WARS_Remastered/">Steam</a>.</p>

<p>Released back in October 2014, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/freedom-wars/">Freedom Wars</a> takes place in a dystopian future where humanity is confined to a massive prison-slash-city called Panopticons. It is a bleak and oppressive place where living is a crime punished by a million-year sentence.</p> 

<p>They must fight for their freedom by engaging in dangerous combat operations and competing with other Panopticons for the planet's remaining resources.</p> 

<p>The remastered version promises enhanced 4K resolution, upgraded textures, 60fps gameplay, and improved weapon crafting, along with added difficulty settings. Additionally, it features an expanded English and Japanese voice acting, namely with its cast of Android characters.</p>  

<p>Players can expect the return of its dynamic three-dimensional combat. It now comes with a variety of quality of life improvements that make its third-person combat a bit modernized. Gameplay is often compared to the likes of CAPCOM’s Monster Hunter franchise and even Bandai Namco’s very own God Eater series.</p>

<p>Freedom Wars: Remastered maintains the game’s original combat. Players still assume the role of ‘Sinners’ with their set of guns and a special ability called Thorns. These are capable of traversing the environment, subduing enemies, and severing limbs for valuable resources.</p>

‘Freedom Wars Remastered’ Brings PlayStation Vita Classic to PC and Consoles Next Year

<p>BAFTA-nominated studio Other Tales Interactive is set to release <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/miniatures/">Miniatures</a>, a collection of interactive short stories, on <strong>November 14</strong> for Nintendo Switch, PC, and iOS.</p> 

<p>Miniatures invites players into a world of childhood magic and melancholy. The game features four dreamlike stories inspired by strange objects found in an old wooden box.</p> 

<p>It is best described as a narrative <a href="https://whatoplay.com/switch/best/adventure/">adventure</a> with gameplay blending graphic novel aesthetics with contemporary adventure game mechanics. Games like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/florence/">FLORENCE</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/gorogoa/">Gorogoa</a> have similar gameplay directions.</p>

<p>The devs stated that it explores the bittersweet memories of growing up. This is made better with its intuitive touch controls available on the released platforms. This results in players interacting with the puzzles in a tactile and responsive manner.</p>

<p>Even before the game’s release, the studio has earned multiple accolades for Miniatures. This includes the WINGS Award at A MAZE Berlin 2024 and Best Upcoming Game Art Style at the Digital Vikings Awards 2024.</p>

She further stated that "Through lots of exploration, we ended up with this slightly strange, eerie, and at the same time nostalgic anthology that we are very proud to release into the world."</p>

<p>The studio is also known for their inventive co-op puzzler <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/tick-tock-a-tale-for-two/">Tick Tock: A Tale for Two</a>. It gained a small following of narrative puzzle enthusiasts including a review from Nintendo Insider. Nintendo Insider scored it a 7, stating that it is a ‘fun and engaging co-op puzzler quite unlike anything on the Switch.’</p>

<p>Unknown 9: Awakening follows the journey of Haroona, a Quaestor with powerful abilities sourced from the mysterious dimension that overlaps our own known as the Fold. Haroona must protect humanity from the Ascendants, who seek to harness the power of the Fold to reshape human destiny.</p>

<p>The gameplay offers a familiar blend of third-person <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/ps5/action/">action</a> with stealth elements. Fans of Ubisoft’s <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/assassins-creed-mirage/">Assassin’s Creed</a> series will find some of its mechanics familiar.</p> 

<p>Haroona is played by actress Anya Chalotra, known for her role as Yennefer of Vengerberg from Netflix’s live-action <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/the-witcher/">Witcher</a> series.</p>

<p><a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/funko-fusion/">Funko Fusion</a>, like its collection of physical toys, features nods to pop culture classics like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/jurassic-world-evolution-2-prehistoric-marine-species-pack/">Jurassic World</a>, Back to the Future, The Umbrella Academy, Masters of the Universe, and more. <p>Built for kids and kids at heart, the game takes players to explore their favorite iconic worlds via the Wonder Works Factory. Once outside, they embark on a journey packed with puzzles, battles, and fan-favorite characters from popular franchises.</p> 

<p>It was released a few days ago but the feedback has been less than stellar, with reviewers like CGMagazine calling it ‘an ultimately boring’ title. It received subpar scores of 6’s and 7’s. Even IGN gave it a staggeringly low score of 4, stating that ‘[it] contains precious little in the way of interesting new ideas.’</p> 

<p>Ultimately, the game received a playscore of 6.8 on PlayStation 5, with the PC version receiving a 6.5 gamerscore from other players.</p> 

<p>Despite its middling reviews, Funko Fusion has enough charm to lure in kids that enjoy these franchises coming together. Twinfinite scored a 7 on their review saying that ‘there’s enough charm here that even if you’re tangentially invested, you’ll have a good time.’</p>

<p>Anyone can still try out the game before purchasing to make their own informed decision. A PC demo is still available on Steam, offering a sneak peek into levels inspired by the 1982 horror classic The Thing.</p> 

<p>Funko Fusion is available digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, with physical console editions also on sale. A PlayStation 4 version will be released on <strong>November 15</strong>, with a Nintendo Switch edition launching digitally in December and physically in <strong>March 2025</strong>.</p>

Funko Fusion Launches with Middling Reviews Across Platforms

<p>Analgesic Productions, creators behind the acclaimed <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/anodyne/">Anodyne</a> series, announced a new trailer for their upcoming game <strong>Danchi Days</strong>. It is a cute and cozy <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/best/adventure/">adventure</a> that invites players to relive the magic of a Japanese summer festival during the year 2000, or Y2K.</p>

<p>Hoshino’s goal throughout the game is to invite neighbors to join in on the festival. There are over 151 characters from all walks of life available to recruit.</p> 

<p>Along the way, players will also encounter a variety of challenges and heartwarming stories from various NPCs. Which means that while some festival-goers may readily accept the invitation, others will need a little encouragement.</p> 

<p>As Hoshino, you have heightened ‘senses’ that will prove useful in observing their surroundings and finding hidden details to know more about other characters.</p> 

<p>Danchi Days oozes nostalgia with its stylistic retro charm thanks to the artwork from independent illustrator <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mogumu_/">mogumu</a>.</p>
