<p>Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 garnered 3 nominations: Best Audio, Best Game Design and Best Narrative. This marks yet another year where Baldur’s Gate 3 dominates an Award Show after its BAFTA and The Game Awards sweep last year.</p> 

<p>Indie titles were the main focus of The Belgian Game Awards. Despite Baldur Gate 3’s universal acclaim, it was tied to Pipette Inc’s The Man Came Around. <p>BGA’s 2024 edition also brings an interesting twist to its awards format by using Olympic-style medals as rewards. Which means Gold, Silver or Bronze will add a creative way to show prestige for the competition.</p>

<p>The live awards show is scheduled for October 18th at Brussels Expo. It is the place where the best of Belgian game development will be celebrated. <p>Publisher Feral Interactive and developer Creative Assembly announces the mobile release of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/empire-total-war/">Total War: EMPIRE</a>. Coming this fall, EMPIRE brings the 18th century's era of exploration, conquest, and revolution to a new generation of mobile players.</p>

<p>Total War: EMPIRE is basically the same game as the 2009 original. Players command one of eleven European powers using a variety of tactics. Be it scientific, political, and warfare.</p> 

<p>The Campaign Map spans Europe, India, and the Americas. This challenges players to balance domestic power with a global reach. The game may not be entirely part of the 4X genre, but it incorporated known mechanics from it ever since. Using diplomacy or force, each faction strives to extend its influence, using armies, fleets, and agents to safeguard their interests at home and abroad.</p>

<p>With this mobile release, warfare has never been more portable. Players will lead their forces in tactical real-time battles, whether it is by using explosive artillery and gunpowder, it remains a true Total War experience.</p> 

<p>This mobile launch follows the success of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/rome-total-war/">Total War: ROME</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/medieval-ii-total-war/">MEDIEVAL II</a>. Both games were at the top of the mobile charts.</p>

Rhythm Game Classic Returns in ‘O2JAM REMIX’

<p>Maximum Entertainment and developer Goodwin Games announced a surprise early launch for their highly anticipated PC version of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/selfloss/">Selfloss</a>. Originally slated for a later date, the dark fantasy-action adventure game will now launch on PC on September 5, 2024.</p> 

<p>Following the PC release, the game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on September 12.</p>

<p>Selfloss follows the journey of Kazimir, an old healer on a quest to  heal the wounds of those who have lost loved ones. By using the light of his magic staff, he can fight against the Miasma, a mysterious affliction that slowly consumes the land.</p> 

<p>Kazimir’s staff is not only central to the game’s narrative but also its mechanics. It is a multi-tool that offers unique gameplay opportunities.</p> 

<p>Gameplay footage shows using the searing light of the staff to combat enemies spawned by the Miasma. The staff can also be used to solve intricate puzzles and cleanse the world of its dark stain.</p> 

<p>Surprisingly, it can also powers Kazimir’s small boat, allowing him to navigate the waters and rivers on his journey.</p>

 Selfloss PC Release Moved Up to September 5

<p>This week marked the official App Store and Google Play launch of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/death-travelers/">Death Travelers</a>. The Early Access release takes players into the underworld, all while vibing to tracks from legendary artists Snoop Dogg and RZA. As cheesy as it sounds, players must race against time to rescue lost souls from eternal damnation.</p>

This week marks the official App Store and Google Play launch of Death Travelers.

<p>The Coffee Talk series returns with a freshly brewed entry. <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/coffee-talk-tokyo/">Coffee Talk Tokyo</a> is set to release next year. This latest installment will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.</p> 

<p>It was initially announced during the <a href="https://whatoplay.com/post/nintendodirect-aug-2024/">Nintendo Direct August 2024</a> showcase.</p>

<p>This marks the third chapter in the cozy <a href="https://whatoplay.com/best/visual-novel/">visual novel</a> series, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/coffee-talk/">Coffee Talk</a>, that captivated players back in 2020. Coffee Talk: Tokyo promises fans a deeply personal journey in an alternate Japan where humans and fantastical beings coexist.</p>

<p>Set in a quaint Tokyo back alley, the game introduces a new yet familiar all-night coffee shop. This latest entry continues the tradition, placing players in the role of a mysterious barista, ready to serve handcrafted warm drinks and offer a sympathetic ear to an interesting roster of customers.</p>

<p>Players encounter a myriad of interesting characters like Kenji, a kappa salaryman on the brink of retirement, Vin, the Barista’s assistant grappling with the aftermath of a past disaster, and Ayame, a lively ghost searching for closure in her afterlife.</p>

<p>Other gameplay additions include advanced latte art options with sprinkle stencils and catching up with familiar characters through the enhanced Tomodachill in-game social media app.</p>

<p>Additionally, Coffee Talk: Tokyo also promises an upgraded experience with its lofi soundtrack all thanks to the return of composer Andrew “AJ” Jeremy. Other returning talents include Anna Winterstein, co-writer of Coffee Talk: Hibiscus and Butterfly, and Kimitaka Ogawa, the Japanese translator for the original games, now joining the writing team.</p>

<p>Coffee Talk and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/coffee-talk-episode-2-hibiscus-and-butterfly/">Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly</a> were praised for its unique blend of heartfelt storytelling in an immersive coffee shop ambiance. Both receive average playscores of 7 and above.</p> 

<p>Coffee Talk Tokyo prepares to open its doors for 2025. Players can wishlist today on select shops.</p>

Coffee Talk Brews New Chapter Set In Tokyo, Coming in 2025

<p>BILIBILI GAME, in collaboration with Sumzap, revealed the global launch of <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/jujutsu-kaisen-cursed-clash/">Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade</a> during this year’s Juju Fest 2024. The <a href="https://whatoplay.com/android/upcoming/">upcoming mobile game</a> is set to release globally this year after its initial Asian launch back in 2023.</p> 

<p>Pre-registration is now open, with exclusive rewards awaiting early sign-ups.</p>

<p>Phantom Parade offers players an immersive trip into Jujutsu Kaisen’s dark and mystical world. This marks the first mobile game adaptation of Gege Akutami's hit series. The popular anime which has captivated audiences since its debut in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018 and its successful anime adaptation.</p> 

<p>The game allows players to relive iconic moments from the first season of the anime while also introducing a brand-new storyline set at the Fukuoka Branch Campus. This provides fresh and familiar content for fans of the series.</p> 

<p>Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is a gacha game following the blueprint of popular titles like <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/honkai-star-rail/">Honkai Star Rail</a>, <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/zenless-zone-zero/">Zenless Zone Zero</a> and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/games/wuthering-waves/">Wuthering Waves</a>.</p>

<p>However, instead of real-time moment to moment combat, it features a turn-based battle system. Phantom Parade features intense battles against cursed spirits, where players can team up with iconic characters like Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and the great Satoru Gojo.</p>

<p>To celebrate the upcoming global launch, BILIBILI GAME has rolled out a pre-registration campaign. Like all Gacha titles, this event offers exclusive in-game rewards for players who pre-register before its official launch. The more players that register, the greater the rewards, with milestones unlocking additional bonuses.</p>
