Players in North America will have the chance to try NetEase's latest game, Ashfall, next month. The Chinese gaming giant will launch Ashfall's Closed Beta Test on August 3.

The Closed Beta Test will run for two weeks. NetEase said in a press release that it can be played on mobile devices and PCs.

Developers have already opened up signups for the Closed Beta Test. They have also dropped a new trailer for interested players to check out

.

Ashfall is NetEase's newest self-developed game.

The upcoming MMORPG will take players to a post-apocalyptic world where humans clash with artificial intelligence (AI). Rogue AI forces have triggered a nuclear war, wiping out nearly all humanity.

Players take control of survivors who must acquire the Core of Creation to restore order and civilization. Along the way, they will encounter variousenemies and allies. They can range from robots to mysteries.

Like most MMORPGs, Ashfall will allow players to craft their own gear and weapons. They can also team up with other players or go solo with the game's cross-play feature.

According to the developers, Ashfall combines Eastern and Western influences. Developers have also partnered with prominent composers and score masters to produce its music.

NetEase has confirmed that the Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer will co-produce the game's music. He will be joined by Hollywood score master Steve Mazzaro and Inon Zur, the music producer known for his work on the Fallout series.

We hope that players will enjoy exploring this wasteland world and discovering its secrets, Wang added.

NetEase has targeted a 3Q 2024 window for Ashfall's launch.
