Hit survival sim ARK finally got a major update for its mobile version.
Publishers Grove Street Games, Snail Games, and Studio Wildcard confirmed the release of ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition. Beginning on December 18, players and fans can experience the upgraded edition of ARK on iOS and Android.
ARK: Ultimate Mobile Edition came as a free-to-download update. It includes the full ARK experience. As well as all expansion packs, and fan-favorite maps.
However, some community maps can be accessed as in-app purchases. The Scorched Earth and Aberration maps will have a price tag of US$5.99 each. Other maps, like the Extinction, Genesis Parts 1 & 2, and The Ragnarok will roll out by the end of 2025.
Alternatively, players can opt to subscribe to the ARK Pass.
With it, subscribers can access every current and future expansion. They also get to receive exclusive features and bonuses. The ARK Pass carries a price tag of US $4.99 monthly or US $49.99 annually. Some of its benefits included God Console commands for single-player mode. It also contains bonus experience points across all game modes, monthly drops of in-game currency, and access to exclusive servers.
The Ultimate Mobile Edition is the biggest update for ARK since its port to mobile devices in 2018 - roughly six years ago.
ARK: Survival Evolved is an open-world survival game developed by Studio Wildcard. It immerses players in a prehistoric and sci-fi hybrid world, filled with dinosaurs, mythical creatures, and futuristic technology.
Players begin stranded, naked, and vulnerable on a mysterious island. Then forced to hunt, gather resources, and craft tools in order to survive. Its gameplay emphasizes exploration and taming over 100 species of dinosaurs and other creatures.
Since its release in 2015, ARK has garnered praise for its ambitious scope and multiplayer dynamics. However, it faced criticism for technical issues. Despite this, the game's success enabled its creators to expand it to other platforms, including mobile. / ###
