I heard of this game a while back, i wanted to try it but didn't have the money until a few days ago, i realized Backbone was on xboxgamepass for Pc this whole time, instantly, i watched some reviews and downloaded it.

**Story:** You Play as a raccoon, a private detective when one day, a pregnant woman ask for your help as she thinks her husband is cheating on her. As you get more into the case, you find out that husband spends his night in "The Bite" its a place where people party, drink. As you try to enter the place, you'll find people helping and there are different ways to enter the place. Once you enter, you soon find yourself lying to the owner and getting kicked out, as you enter the building again, you found something that would shock you so much that you starts to vomit. After being shock of what you just seen, you decided to drink and end up getting beat up. A fox named "Renee" saves you and after talking, you both are partners and trying to figure out what you just seen and trying to stop the owner of the Place.

The story is broken up in 5 Acts, the first is the Prologue and you could try the demo and see if the game is worth your time. After finishing the Prologue, the story gets darker and darker. In a world of animals.

There are different ways of playing the game, you could lie and the person might believe you, you could lie about your identity, your work and everything about your life. And if you're playing on Microsoft store, you can get achievements if you choose to lie about your identity at the first few two acts.

**Graphics:** I really love the graphics and atmosphere, it's soo nice, especially at the prologue, the raining effect is so HD and nice and it progressively gets better the more you get into the game, i can't stop taking screenshots. I posted most of it at my twitter: [Twitter.com/@\_matthewR](https://twitter.com/_MatthewRE)[E](Twitter.com/@_matthewRE).

Most people says that the game is amazing at the start, but it gets worst as the more you play it but from what i experienced, i disagree. While it gets quite boring as you have to read the dialogue non-stop as there's no voice which is boring. the game is soo cool but i got quite bored due to me reading non stop and if you accidentally skip a dialogue, you'll probably have a bad time because you have no idea what's happening and "who is that person". So it's a must to read every dialogue of what people have to say.

**Music:** I love game music, but backbone lacks that, there are barely any music in the game which makes the game very quiet at times. When i say “at times” i mean like 70% of the game, at the main menu, there's music, but it's soo boring. At act 3 and 4, there's music, but it barely last long, only at cutscenes then music starts playing.

First, the dialogue is very boring due to no voice, then barely any music playing in the background. Ouch.

I love that the world is about animals instead of humans as i'm tired of human detective games and when i heard that this game is about animals, i kinda got more excited to play it.

Things i love about this game:

* The atmosphere and background, it's beautiful.
*   The characters
* That choices in this game kinda matters and that there are different ways of doing things in this game.

What i dislike about this game:

1. Barely any music playing in the background
2. Bugs that make me restart the entire game ( will mention more about it later)
3. No voice acting and makes the game more boring due to me reading character's dialogue non-stop and if i skip one line or a cutscene, i have no idea what's going on.

Bugs, at the main menu of the screen, i wanted to lower the volume on my laptop and i tap the buttons, and idk why but when i tap the buttons, it makes me tap “New Game” and me having to restart the entire game. THIS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE.

It takes about 4hours to complete the game. The game is cool. But it lacks a lot of stuff, the potential is there but it feels like they were lazy to add music which is basically the best part about video games and they lack it. It would be great if they added more background music and the voice/dialogue thing stays the same. But for me, i would rate it what i rated.

It's Worth checking out, on 28 October,2021, Backbone is comings to consoles and xboxgamepass for xbox.
