Set up train networks connecting your towns and industries. Lay tracks and set train orders to connect them as efficiently as possible. The inhabitants can only travel by train. Will they appreciate the luxurious fast trains you just bought them? Fine-tune routes to optimise your network and minimise the time passengers spend waiting. But don't get complacent! As you progress, opportunities, requests and family interference may come your way and threaten to upheave the little train utopia you've just built. Please note that Iron Roads is being actively developed, but it is currently incomplete. The demo has a slice of the game we hope it will eventually be by the time we get to Early Access. You can download it and play now. If you do, we'd love to hear from you: what you liked, what you didn't and what you think we could change. Things you can do in Iron Roads right now

Build a train network

Set trains running on that network

Transport passengers, earn money and complete tasks

Enjoy an accessible, clean interface: there is a rudimentary tutorial, so it won't take you long to get going

Scenarios: hand crafted maps with geographical puzzles built in to stretch your network-building skills

Accept contracts: scenarios come with a grant system where you can follow focussed goals if you wish to earn extra money and get the satisfaction of ticking off a to-do list

Build large, complex networks. Or small-to-medium sized networks, if that's what floats your boat.

Features Iron Roads doesn't have yet, but will do eventually

Cargo: This is coming soon, keep an eye on our news feed for when we do

Ability to build even larger, more complex networks

Detailed graphs and charts (because all the great games have spreadsheets)

A lot of scenarios: right now there is a tutorial, a small map, and a medium-sized map to play in the demo

Sandbox mode: eventually you'll be able to generate random maps

Things we don't plan to have

Buses, boats, planes or any other form of transport

3D graphics: our focus is on allowing you to build large networks easily, and we find 2D better for that

NFTs, lootboxes or microtransactions

Games we were inspired by

OpenTTD

Mini Metro

Two Point Hospital

Lets Build a Zoo

Opus Magnum
