Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the type of game which can old very fast. However, before the game eventually declined, Koei Tecmo delivered with an expansion pass consisting of two parts releasing separately but still bundled with the DLC Purchase.

Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients gives us an insight as to what plans the developers have and will continue to implement in this game. Aside from a few bug fixes, this pass provides:

(**SPOILERS**) Pros:

* Two new weapon styles. One for Link and one for Zelda.
* 3 new outfit pieces for Link (the Ancient set from Breath of the Wild) and a one-handed sword (Ancient Short Sword from Breath of the Wild).
* A brand new character: Battle-Tested Guardian. Thankfully his playstyle differs much from Terrako, which is a concern many players were worried for.
* More collectible certificates from the new enemy mobs.
* Other quality of life improvements, most notably: the ability to buy apples before embarking on quests.

Cons:

* Other than the new weapon styles and character, there isn't much of a difference to the base mechanics.
* Even the new enemy mobs are in essentiality just glorified versions of previous mobs, with not even much visual change either. The game suffered with this problem even before the DLC.
* The gameplay can feel too similar and easy. However, this was bound to happen since it was meant to be played after the player had completed the main story.

I had a decent time playing this DLC (and still am). Like it's predecessor, the DLC pack for Breath of the Wild- the Trial of the Sword, it kept me wanting more and eagerly waiting for the next part to drop later this year. For people who are a bit short for cash at the moment, the DLC may not be worth it right now, although it certainly would be when Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance drops later this year!
