The King of Fighters ALLSTAR

While ‘gacha’ system may not be too appealing for everyone, it is undeniable that The King of Fighters ALLSTAR managed to bring the franchise’s essence to smartphones, although in a slightly different fashion. Despite all of the technical flaws and poor optimization, this game is definitely a gift for all the fans of KoF series.

Death Stranding

Aiming for hyper-realism in gameplay as much as you do in the visual style is risky. Pairing it with a complicated sci-fi story is even more so, but Death Stranding does it in a manner that only Kojima could pull off. Throughout the game, the traditional values of the Metal Gear series will shine through, but they are enveloped in something new and groundbreaking. If we got the message correctly, this video game aims to immerse the player in a cinematic, hyper-realistic gaming experience, but it also seems to attempt to blur the boundaries between the movie and a video game.

The experience is so immersive, so eye-catching, and so incredibly fun that the only thing that will cut the fun is the 15-or-so hour-long campaign length. But, that’s where the multiplayer modes come in, and there are several of them to enjoy.

All things considered, Jenny LeClue – Detectivu is a masterfully crafted game, worth every praise. It’s worth playing for its amazing artwork and great story alone, so you most definitely won’t regret the time spent playing this game. It’s also worth mentioning that the game is about 10-15 hours long, which is quite solid for a single-player indie game. All in all, if you are a fan of a good mystery, you won’t regret giving Jenny LeClue – Detectivu a try.

With the original experience presented faithfully, having only the visual reduction as the drawback, this port is worth the effort and CD Project Red made good on their promises.

The Outer Worlds seems to bring everything Obsidian wanted from Fallout: New Vegas to be but couldn’t reach due to the pressing development time frame, limited tech of that time, or other reasons. It brings the traditional gameplay and story presentation, with the familiar wit and humor of Fallout. It even brings a similar story of how humanity affects its environment, but it swirls it all in a new and thrilling story that is so rare in games these days. This title is a two-thumbs up from us!

Pacybits Fut 20 is definitely an interesting concept as far as its gaming mechanics go. However, the game is undoubtedly targeted at football fans and people who like meddling with football data, but not the game itself sort to say, like people who like to bet on sports. It offers an endless array of cards with a colorful display of current and old school players, and it also has some rewarding game modes. All in all, the game justifies being such a hit throughout all of its installments.

This game is made by a very successful developer of browser strategy games, which were popular around 2010s. Their Empire: Four Kingdoms mobile game is one of the highest-grossing apps on Google Play. Empire: Age of Knights mobile game combines the 3D advanced graphics of Four Kingdoms with the classic, gritty, and merciless bloodbath of classic online strategy games of the last decade and a half. All in all, it is a good way to get into mobile strategies if competitive online play is your thing, but its not for the faint of heart.

Every game has its use, and Dungeon Break can be fun perhaps for someone who likes unusually looking games with peculiar gameplay. However, it all feels like it was developed within a couple of days. The gameplay is repetitive, but in a bad sense of the word. It is quite difficult and challenging just to start playing the game, although it may gain some value if you somehow manage to get good at it. All in all, it is clumsy, offers minimum content, and is probably not going to stick with an average player today.

Arena Allstars mobile is an improvement on the currently popular auto chess extravaganza. The game does honor what has already become a tradition in these types of games, but expands where there is a place for it. Particularly, the addition of the Co-Op feature and exploring the fantasy atmosphere is what gives this title its unique and fresh feeling, while it also improves the game design compared to the competition. It is currently in early access, so if you are a fan of the new-wave, give it a shot.

Indivisible is an extremely fun and engaging game, and it is definitely worth playing. Its astounding art and graphics are amazingly well done and will hook you in from the get-go. While the story isn’t exactly a masterpiece, it is still interesting enough to keep you immersed in its world. While Indivisible has its issues, fans of the genre will more than likely appreciate it for what it is – a great mix of two different genres filled with an intriguing story, likable characters, and engaging combat system.

Harbingers – Last Survival Android mobile game certainly justifies its popularity and high scores on Google Play. The game takes the traditional zombie game setting, spices it up with hundreds of heroic and attractive female characters, and ties it all up with quite a wide content. A recipe for success as it seems, as the Chinese indie developer Wanda Cinemas Games managed to surpass Chinese enormous market and grow outside their borders.

Hoppia Tale is much more than it meets the eye. The game has high scores on both iOS and Android stores, which it gained during its soft launch phase, meaning they are legit. It may not look much at first glance, but it is a highly rewarding experience once you give it a shot. It will reel you in with its vast and alluring content and it will delight anyone with how it uses so little to give back so much in terms of gameplay.

GreedFall game uses a very engaging method of storytelling to immerse the player into its own world of fantasy meets 17th century history. This narrative is further presented by unconventional gameplay mechanics and in-depth features offered to the player, meant to further enhance the pleasure of immersing oneself into this setting. The game is also quite challenging and rewards players for understanding and using all its innovative features, not forgiving the opposite. All in all, it is quite a good take on the action RPG genre.

Mario Kart Tour is a long-awaited adaptation of the franchise for Smartphones, and it does not disappoint as such. The game perhaps can’t compare to some of its predecessors on consoles, but viewed as a mobile game, it is worth the high scores awarded. The visuals are decent, the gameplay is faithful to the source, and the multiplayer kart racing with Mario characters is definitely going to make millions have fun this winter.

Astral Chain Switch is a new take on portable action gaming, as it brings the chance to control two characters at the same time, which are beautifully synched to perform incredible stunts and action sequences. Out of combat, the game looks like Batman Arkham Asylum a lot, with a detective-like atmosphere in a sci-fi world. Story-wise, it is a cool new concept, worth exploring and quite a rewarding experience. Top marks!
