In local* or online ** battle arenas, up to 4 players can fight until the last Kirby standing wins. There are other modes too, like Ore Express, a mad dash to hoard treasure. Choose an ability and prove you're the one Kirby to rule them all. Not to mention, there's a single-player story mode too!

In all honesty though, Kirby Battle Royale relies a little too much on circumstances. If you want to get the most out of it, you will need a group of friends with Nintendo 3DS systems. The local multiplayer is the best time you will have with the game, so it’s important that you experience this.
Kirby Battle Royale is a very difficult game to recommend. First of all, there is not a lot of content here. You’ll essentially be playing the same 10 mini-games over and over again. There are some variations, and you’ll be able to use different Kirby’s and boosts to change things up, but ultimately there is a ton of repetition. Having only one save space is absurd, especially for families with multiple gamers, but at least there’s a decent download play option for local multiplayer.
Two years ago, I can imagine Kirby: Battle Royale having a great online following and loads of people getting together at StreetPass events to play with one another. Now? Kirby: Battle Royale is honestly best left in the past. Nintendo still has a chance to redeem this game, simply by porting it to the Switch and allowing for multiplayer on a single, big screen. But until then? Just don’t bother. The minigames aren't all bad, but it just doesn’t feel worth it as a full price retail release.
