Warframe Unveils More Details On Dante Unbound Ahead of Release

More information about the next update for the third-person shooter Warframe has been revealed ahead of its release.

In its latest Devstream, creators from Digital Extremes announced the launch date of Dante Unbound. On top of it, they also teased Tenno (players) and fans what to expect in the upcoming expansion. These included new features such as a new mission type and quality-of-life improvements.

Dante Unbound will arrive this March 22, Digital Extremes said. The major update's scheduled release will also mark Warframe's 11th anniversary. In turn, the game's creators revealed their plans for celebrating its newest milestone at the PAX East convention.

Dante Unbound is the 17th content update for Warframe. It will bring a new Warframe to the game, the titular Dante, inspired by classic MMO casters. Previews of Dante's combat styles were also showcased, for the first time, in the recent Devstream.

Dante can be seen replacing his secondary weapon with an Exalted Weapon called "Noctua". Developers also demonstrated how to activate his abilities - the Light Verse and Dark Verse. In Light Verse, Dante grants increased maximum health to his allies. For "Dark Verse", Dante rains down blood-slashing needles for area-of-effect damage.

The order in how players cast the Light and Dark Verses will then influence their ultimate ability, the Final Verse.

Warframe's newest update will also introduce players to a new mission type called Deep Archimedea. It combines three existing mission types into one. In it, players will find themselves in a 'single, challenging mission' with no breaks in between.

Meanwhile, developers presented a reworked Inaros in its latest stream. Some of the improvements they made included changes to his base kit and his Scarab Armor. His 'Devour' ability was also replaced with an improved 'Sandstorm'. As a result, Inaros has faster summoning and movement.

For Warframe's 11th anniversary, Digital Extremes will head to PAX East. The in-person celebration will kick off this March 22, coinciding Dante Unbound's launch. Developers have also invited Ben Starr, the voice actor of Arthur, as one of their special guests.

“It's been over five years since we went to a PAX!” said Megan Everett, Community Director. "Celebrating our 11th Anniversary there feels like the perfect way to reconnect with our Tenno again in-person," she added.

Warframe is currently available on PC, consoles, and iOS. The Android version is set to release sometime after February this year.

Warframe has its highest playscore on PS5 with 8.6. / ###
