Rundisc's Chants of Sennaar ruled the night as it bagged the Best Video Game award in the recently concluded 5th Ceremony of the Pégases.
Held at La Cigale, the awarding, which celebrates the 'best of the best' in France's video gaming industry, also unveiled new surprises. These included works in store for the iconic dance game Just Dance.
Nineteen prestigious Pégases were awarded across various categories during the awarding night held at La Cigale on March 8.
Leading the pack was the Babylon-inspired Chants of Sennaar from Rundisc and Focus Entertainment. Aside from Best Video Game, the team also took home the Best Independent Video Game and Best Game Design.
Launched in 2023, the highly-rated adventure game takes players to a world inspired by the myth of Babel. They become travelers and embark on a quest to reunite the divided Peoples of the Tower.
Soldats Inconnus: Frères d'Armes from Old Skull Games was also another big winner at the 5th Ceremony of the Pégases. Also known as Valiant Hearts: Coming Home in English, it got the Best Mobile Game and Excellent Narrative awards.
Riding on the success of its predecessor, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, it transports players once again to World War 1. The game follows two brothers fighting for survival amid the chaos in war.
The 5th Ceremony of the Pégases also revealed new developments in some of France's gaming circles. During the awarding, Ubisoft presented the audience with a preview of the duet dance featuring the Château de Versailles for Just Dance 2024. The new duet dance was made in collaboration with the French National Center of Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC).
Meanwhile, four upcoming new titles were also unveiled on March 8's awarding ceremony. These are Amerzone and Les Fourmis (Microids), Kamaeru (Humble Reeds), and Cryptical Path (Old Skull Games). / ###
