One Last Breath, the singleplayer puzzle game that depicts the dire consequences of climate change, will welcome players soon. Maniac Panda and Catness Games announced they will launch One Last Breath this March 28.
The upcoming eco-horror game will make its way to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. It will be carrying a price tag of $29.99.
One Last Breath is a 2.5D puzzle platformer. The game was built using Unreal Engine 5 technology. Its creators described it as a cautionary tale on how humanity's greed can result in its downfall.
“One Last Breath is a unique game exploring very real, urgent issues of climate change,” said Daniel Valdes, CEO at Maniac Panda Games.
On the other hand, the game is also about renewal and hope.
“That said, we didn’t set out to make a nihilistic, cynical game, but rather a message of hope and wonder, reminding players of the beauty of nature and how we’re at a crucial point in human history where we can still make a difference," Valdes said.
In the game, players become Gaia, a powerful being with the ability to control the environment. As Gaia, it is up to them to breathe life back into a desolated earth. Players will manipulate their surroundings to overcome obstacles, solve puzzles, and navigate the treacherous terrain.
One Last Breath is also about navigating a harsh environment.
The game contains 'tons of rich, puzzle systems' that challenge players to think creatively. By utilizing Gaia's unique abilities, players can unlock new areas, uncover hidden secrets, and progress on Gaia's mission of restoration.
One Last Breath has also received recognition and accolades during its development. This included the Best Game in the Indie Arena Booth 2022 for gamescom 2022. / ###
